Green Monkey Hostel — Hotel in Flores

I can not attest to the quality of the rooms however there appears to be an issue with the travel agents they allow to operate.||Our situation was a bus from Belize city where a guy got on the bus and provided us with transportation options. Tikal the next morning and transportation to Semuc Champey or Antigua. We booked the Tikal tour and everything was good 120 Q for transportation and tour.||Thinking everything was good we went back as they had talked about a package deal with transportation to Semuc Champey, hostel lodging for 2 nights, Semuc Champey and transportation to Antigua for 500 - 650 Q depending on type accommodations. Fast talking Luis accepted our money but clearly and not arranged anything once we left Flores. Hostel had no idea we were coming and the transportation to Antigua did not exist so we had to pay again. In fact would have lost everything if the hostel owner wouldnt have worked something out.||Stop hosting scammers and word of advice always book direct as it's easy enough vs. long...

Hosting scammers... BEWARE. Bus from Belize city to Flores and met with a tour guide offering packages out of the green monkey. Tikal, Semuc Champey etc. We booked the Tikal transportation 120 Q for the next day.

I only stayed one night because the mini van driver who picked everyone up from the Belize /Guatemala border. Said he would not be dropping people off at their chosen hotel or Hostel in Flores but was only going to stop at His Place!! .The Green Monkey. .We arrived at 9 pm, too dark to be looking for my chosen hotel, which was on the main town of Flores. .over the bridge so decided to stay at the Green Monkey for the night and look for my hotel in the morning when it was light. What a big mistake, the room was dirty, the bed sheets were filthy. The only way I would sleep on that bed was on top of the bed covers and dressed, If you could sleep at all because of the night club just behind the Hostel and the sound of the traffic. This is one place to avoid and I never mentioned the bathroom!!! A total scam to get people to...
