The property is beside a subway entrance, however, the surrounding area was dirty and had many inebriate people making it feel very unsafe. The guesthouse entrance has 2 locked iron gates - you need to be buzzed in or use a guesthouse provided key FOB. Guesthouse gate entrance is between a lidl store and a kabab shop, and the complex is shared by other businesses making it very unsafe. There were multiple signs saying to "lock the gate", "Keep guesthouse room doors locked." after entering the first door you are hit with the stench smell of the kabab shop that had its inner door opened in this small hallway. Through the next door/gate and we were greated by a dirty mattress up against the wall. the reception is up a few flights of stairs and through a few doors. On registration - I had done this online as requested and had informed the guesthouse that our arrival time would be later than expected due to train delay, I contacted them to let them know we would be arriving at 6.30 pm. The reception checked our passports, and informed us that there was an upfront charge for air conditioning for each day which we paid, checkin was competed by 7.30pm. The Guesthouse room - we were given was not 2 separate beds as requested. Ask to be relocated but was told to check out next day at 8am and re checkin later in the day (we had booked for 3 nights, as we were going to leave at 2am to catch early flight and thought it would be more convient than hanging out in the airport). The room had dirty sheets on the bed, no place to hang your clothes and the curtains were dirty, torn and didn't close properly. Bathroom was not clean, shower door broken - unable to close it. There was mildew in shower and the bathroom smelt bad. Room windows dirty and blinds broken. The windows have no sound proofing and the walls are paper thin, we could hear people talking. The kitchen area used by all, was very dirty and just outside our room. |This Guesthouse - lol - felt more like a very bad hostel from many a year ago. We did not feel safe and left the next day having spent the night awake trying to secure another place to stay for the 2 nights before we flew home.|On the wall at the reception was a poster saying that it was a highly recommeded by Booking.com - what a joke. I put a complaint into Booking.com and they said they would contact the guesthouse - I don't know about this, because the guesthouse sent me a request for a review. My new place was exquisit, very clean, it a great area, had amazing faciities and I found it on AirBnB for the same price. |My advise is to avoid this place at all costs. I travelled with my son and I can honestly say this place is the worst I have ever...

The good - on the Pest side right next to a subway entrance. The bad - on the Pest side next to subway entrace - not so great crowd in muy opinion. Surrounding area felt quite dirty. The guesthouse entrace has 2 locked iron gates - you need to be buzzed in or use a guesthouse provided key FOB. Guesthouse gate entrance and the enire complex is shared by other businesses making it very unsafe. In fact, there are multiple signs/postings saying to "lock the gate", "Keep guesthouse room doors locked..." and so on. Guesthouse room - I was given a room with a broken/cracked 20" TV screethen. When pointed out, they claimed they didn't know about it and transfered me to another room. The 2nd room still had 2 dirty towels hanging on the hooks. And it had 2 wet (not damp) towes folded and left on beds. Bathroom was not clean - the receptionist tried to locate cleaners, unable to find someone, she cleaned it herself. There was mildew in shower curtains. Shower hand held unit wasn't working - I have video of the issue. An attempt to replair was made on the 2nd day, the maintenance guy ended up replacing it as it was so worn out and clogged.||Wi-fi wasn't working - when asked, I was told that wi-fi doesn't work due to rains. I have never heard of such a lame excuse. This was another reception worker named Anna. I told her that it is not possible for outside rain to impact internal wi-fi service. (unless they had their wi-fi routers out in the garden/patio exposed to water). Anna called another person, Clara, who reset the wi-fi router to get it working again. |Room windows have no sound proofing. The room I stayed was next to inner courtyard, there were people talking loud...

Avoid at All Costs – Terrible Experience!

I rarely leave reviews, but this place in Budapest was so bad, I feel obligated to warn others.

From the moment we arrived, things were off. There were cockroaches right outside our door and in the hallway, which immediately made us uncomfortable. The bathroom looked dirty, with an overall neglected feel that made using it unpleasant. There was no cold water at all—neither in the shower nor in the sink, which made even washing your face uncomfortable. Hygiene clearly isn't a priority here.

Every morning was a nightmare due to the cleaning staff. Instead of quietly doing their job, they would slam the doors with full force, creating a horrible noise that echoed through the building. This happened early in the morning, disrupting any chance of getting a proper rest.

The smell from the shawarma place downstairs was absolutely disgusting. The stench of old curry and grease would waft up and linger, especially in the evenings. It made it almost impossible to open the windows without gagging.

As for the bed, the pillows were ancient and ridiculously flat, and the sheets looked worn-out and overused. Everything about the room screamed neglect and lack of care.

Would I return? Absolutely not. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Run...

I stayed at Omega Guest House for 5 nights, paying €180 in total — definitely a very economical choice. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and this place was exactly that. The rooms were very basic, almost reminiscent of student accommodation. The bathroom was functional, and there was both a TV and air conditioning. However, I was bemused to find there were two TV remotes but no control for the AC! The bedding was extremely thin, the pillows felt like they were stuffed with tissue paper, and unfortunately, there was a questionable stain on the bed sheet, which wasn’t ideal. On the positive side, the lady at reception, Ernie, was pleasant and friendly, which made check-in welcoming. The location isn’t the best, and being above a kebab shop meant the smell of food drifted up quite often. That said, if you’re like me and just need a bed and shower because you’re out exploring all day, then this place does the job at a very economical price point. Top tip: Right opposite the guest house is a lovely café called Kultura, where the coffee and croissants are excellent — a great way to start the day before heading out.

This is the reception also for Elvis Guesthouse. And both of these places are disgusting. Be ready to waste your nerves and time trying to get something vital from the people at the reception. They answer rudely and with contempt, always despising, give different information in different days. In the room there were no table, no closet to store things in, very poor lighting, dark even during the day. The bathtub leaks, making the bathroom constantly damp and causing the towels to smell the next day. There are also cockroaches of different sizes, which means that no one cares about getting rid of them. They are not only in common areas and in the kitchen, but also sometimes appear in the room and bathroom. It is also very noisy - you can hear both neighbors and all sounds from the street. People smoke under the windows, so the instruction “no smoking” makes no sense at all. Everything is old and in a cobweb. After cleaning, other people's hair is smeared on the floor, various wet crumbs are lying around - from cockroaches to feathers. Don't sponsor such rudeness.
