An accomodating, delicious, and central restaurant boasting a wide variety of fairly priced Asian dishes.
We were greeted by two genuinely kind, smiling members of staff who did their best to maximise the experience of our whole stay. The menu contains primarily Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese dishes, and though initially surprising in its length, executes these styles very well. The drinks menu is also quite extensive, and many drink prices are far below what one might expect for a restaurant such as this, for example the 5€ cocktails and 10€ bottles of wine.
We first enjoyed a variety of sushi dishes, summer rolls and pan fried dumplings. The sushi was delicate, flavourful and fresh, while the rolls and dumplings were juicy, generous and bursting with flavour. As we ate these, our fried duck curry came out, containing a hefty portion of crispy duck laid over a bed of balanced and delicious curry - rice also came with this. Though not included in this review, there are some photos of this dish in others and I highly recommend it. Portions are generous and you certainly get what you pay for.
We also ordered two mojitos, we don’t think the server was too familiar with making these, however did a fantastic job. Though not a traditional mojito with all the flair one might expect from a bar, it was large, affordable, refreshing, and generously filled with lime and mint. A perfect drink for a summer lunch.
Lower cost eateries can definitely be found in this area, but dishes very rarely exceeded 10€ here, and I expect one could easily have a Fantastic meal with a starter and main for 7-12€ depending on items ordered.
A medium - large size restaurant, reservations are likely not required, at least for lunch. Good for large and small groups alike.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ruby Etterem last Sunday, a place that, at first glance from the outside, might not catch your eye. The interior of the restaurant is rather outdated and lacks a modern touch, but once the food arrives, all preconceptions fade away.
I opted for the beef Pho soup, and to my delight, it arrived promptly. The Pho was nothing short of spectacular—flavorful, fresh, and simply divine. Its taste transcended the dated ambiance of the restaurant.
Unable to resist, I also ordered sushi and other items from their menu, all of which were delivered with impressive speed. The culinary journey continued to impress.
Beyond the heavenly dishes, the service was exceptional. Every detail about the dishes, their preparation, origin, and a touch of Vietnamese culinary history was communicated with finesse. A young man, a student in international relations, took the lead in providing impeccable service. His English was perfect, and his warmth and energy were infectious. It's safe to say he's one of the most vibrant individuals I've had the pleasure of encountering.
Ruby Etterem is a hidden culinary gem where the exterior may deceive, but the food and service will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression. If you're a fan of Vietnamese cuisine and appreciate a personal touch in service, this is a...
Read moreThe Restaurant, Ruby Etterem, has Ruby Sushi sign outside the restaurant, and it does offer Japanese sushi and Japanese wines, mainly sakei. However, the restaurant has variety of Vietnamese cuisine dishes, including noodle, vegetarian salads, etc. The restaurant has variety of salad and other vegetarian dishes to meet the demand of veggie eaters.
Its salad dish [Salata Zolclsegek] and Vietnamese salad with rice noodle and fried bean curd have authentic Vietnamese taste and not salty [Nyari Tai Zoldsegek & Tofu]. Although all of the tables do have soy sauce and spicy sauce bottles for customers’ use, I feel that its dishes do not need any extra sauces at all. The restaurant does offer variety of Vietnamese ramen, from seafood style to beef or vegetarian flavor.
Owner or manager is friendly and seems to be able to command English for foreign tourists who like to have vegetarian dishes. The manager or owner seems to be Vietnamese immigrant family, and the restaurant has been in the location for about 2 years.
Per entry at this restaurant is around $3000...
