Wow! What an incredible first night in Budapest, made absolutely perfect by a lucky stumble upon Lam Anh Pho "a hidden gem of a Vietnamese restaurant". We were craving something warm and comforting after our travels, and boy, did we hit the jackpot!
Let's talk about the pho. Forget everything you think you know about pho. This wasn't just soup; it was a symphony of flavors! The broth was rich, aromatic, and clearly simmered with love. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked, the noodles were springy, and the herbs were fresh and fragrant. Honestly, it was like a warm hug in a bowl – exactly what we needed. I'm already dreaming of my next bowl!
And then there was the crispy chicken with fried rice. Crispy is an understatement! The chicken was unbelievably crunchy on the outside, yet juicy and tender on the inside. The fried rice was light, fluffy, and packed with flavor – a perfect complement to the chicken. Every bite was a little piece of heaven.
To top it all off, we indulged in some authentic Vietnamese coffee. Strong, bold, and sweet – it was the perfect pick-me-up after a long day of travel. The whole meal was incredibly reasonably priced, especially considering the generous portions and the high quality of the food.
But beyond the amazing food, the service was also fantastic. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They made us feel right at home and were happy to answer our questions about the menu.
Honestly, finding this restaurant was like discovering a hidden treasure. It was the perfect way to kick off our Budapest adventure, and we can't wait to go back for more. If you're looking for delicious, authentic Vietnamese food in Budapest, look no further! This place is a must-try!

Read moreIts unfortunate that the previous reviewers have obviously never enjoyed authentic vietnamese cuisine before. This restaurant used to be peking bufe, and it shows in the cooking. Let me be clear that the property is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. But the food is a tremendous disappointment. The type of noodles in the pho is not correct, the type/cut of beef in the pho is not correct, the sauce for the fresh spring rolls is not correct (should be peanut sauce), and they don't offer hoisin for the pho (only sriracha). If you want edible asian "style" food this might be the place for you. But if you are craving good vietnamese food, you wont find it here. You'd have an equal chance getting a decent bowl of pho if you go to mcdonalds.
p.s. previous reviews falsely and egregiously used the word "authentic". In addition to the inexcusable errors in dish prep above, when i ordered dishes by their vietnamese names, the waiter had no idea what...
Read moreI really have to say this!! I’m a professionally trained cook. (can say a chef as well 😊) I have worked with many chefs around the world (including two Sous chefs from Gordon Ramsay), and have tasted different kinds of foods so far. Therefore food is no longer a fancy thing for me. I found this restaurant while checking Google maps and I tried their food. Mind blowing 😍. The flavours the each dish had beyond describe. You can feel and taste the passion of the dish in each bite. It looks like a family owned business. All the staff members probably the same family. It’s not the most elegant restaurant that you would take your date but I would say this is the restaurant you would take your family to feed lovely food❤️❤️. Card payment is accepted and the portion size is very good. Went there twice and the second time they offered us free soup 🍲😍Wish them...
