It makes me sad to write my first bad review. If it wasn't for the manager this place would've gotten a very good score from us. The location was actually very good, the place quite clean, and all the staff apart from the manager were lovely, but when I cannot bring myself to rate this hostel positively after the way we were treated by the manager. I am genuinely shocked by his behaviour. He should not be allowed to run a hostel if he is going to be aggressive with his guests.||We booked two private 6-bed rooms. On arrival one room had only 5 beds and a sofa. We tried with the staff on duty to see if the sofa unfolded but could not. We (including the staff) assumed it was a 5 bed room given to us by mistake. She politely apologised and one of us slept on the sofa. She said she would talk to the manager and perhaps get us a discount for having a 5 room bed instead. After two nights nobody had spoken to us, so on the third day we approached the manager and told him what happened. His first reaction was to tell us we were lying!!! Then he tried to storm into the room but we managed to stop him as there were girls changing in it. He then kept saying we were lying and that it was obviously a sofa bed and he would only believe us if he couldn't open the bed. He also said we "shouldn't complain about such small things" and just be happy with the sofa, and asked us what we wanted to do about it and sarcastically suggested he should "fire the receptionist", who had done nothing wrong and was lovely to us. When we had had enough and said that at the end of the day it wasn't up to us to know that it was a sofa bed and to know how to unfold it, and that (as the manager) it was his responsibility to have made sure there were 6 usable beds on the first day he exploded with anger and started yelling at us (so much so that others from our group in the other far away room could hear his raised voice). He suggested we were trying to con a discount out of him even though this was the receptionists idea, NOT ours. As a well-built man he was very intimidating and we frankly did not feel safe with how aggressive he got. We then had to drop the topic of the beds and focused on trying to calm him down. He later admitted he acted aggressive and unforced soon although to us and suggested it might have been as he was stressed but did not apologise and merely told us to "not let it bother us". He opened up the sofa, but we did not feel safe to bring up the bed issue again (i.e. the fact that we had 2/3 nights on 5 beds, not 6).||It is sad as if it was just the issue of not having enough beds we would have got over it and given this place a good review, but an aggressive manager trying to shout down and intimidate his guests is...

My stay was okay. The room was spacious, but the bathroom an kitchen were not very clean. Also, had a very poor experience with checking in. My friend arrived at the hostel at 1 30 am while I was out (this was communicated to the hostel prior to arrival-and was told it would be fine) and was left waiting outside for close to half an hour. Only reason she got in was because a guest happened to be passing out for the night...she ended up sleeping in a random room because the receptionist wasn't present and had planned nothing for her arrival. Reception doesn't open until 8 am so you're in a bit of trouble if you have an early flight and need to leave around 6 or 7. Would...

The hostel had no atmosphere. The rooms are very separate and the common room isn’t really used as it’s attached to reception, and you need to be buzzed in to go in there. ||The shower is awful, it works on a push button, so you push the button and get approximately 5 seconds of water before you need to push it again. There were two toilets, one for each gender, for approximately 8 people, and they were cramped/small. ||Our sheets were filthy, the lamps next to the bed didn’t work. They were held together with masking tape and didn’t even have an “on/off” switch.. ||The hostel didn’t have breakfast available, despite advertising this.||Wouldn’t recommend this...
