I stayed at Grey House Ubud and it was everything I needed. After having a bad experience at a nearby stay, I booked 2 nights here and then extended my stay for more days. Joni and his staff were friendly and attentive to my needs. He took out time to hangout with me one morning as we shared breakfast, music, and exchanged stories about our cultures. I even had the chance to taste the food from his local restaurant, Monkey Legend, conveniently only a 3 minute walk to Monkey Forest. It felt like home. ||||The location is in a quiet street and only a 5 min walk from cute restaurants and some main attractions. This is good if you like to be away from the noisy crowd, but still close to the action if you choose. The garden is beautiful and quaint. There are even friendly dogs to play with especially newborn puppies! ||||I stayed in room 4 and was surprised at how spacious the space was. Even though the bathroom was big, had hot water and great shower pressure, maintenance could be improved. For example, the sink was clogged when I got there and it took them a while to fix it. The shower heads can also use more cleaning. The room comes with a fridge, water, and all you need for tea and coffee! The room was more than enough for me as a solo traveler and perfect to share with someone too. ||||The mornings were mellow with the occasional sounds of traditional Balinese music. Breakfast is included. Once the staff noticed I was up, they would ask me if I was ready for breakfast and deliver it to my door. Very sweet! Breakfast is a simple plate of toast, eggs and a plate of fruit. Since I am vegan, I just asked for 2 plates of the fruit. Adding more diversity to the breakfast menu is something the location is working on. ||||At night, is was nice and quiet. I loved sitting outside my room and just gazing at the sky. ||Whether you come to Ubud alone, with a friend or partner I highly recommend you stay at Grey House Ubud! Share a meal with Joni, talk to the staff, play with the dogs and enjoy an afternoon nap. ||||Thank you Joni! See you...

Read moreOverall the place was nice, the staff was friendly and located near the town center. However, the place needed some sprucing as I could see cobwebs and stains on the wall. What spoilt the fun was the faulty shower, it's either scathing hot or freezing cold with no in between. A complaint was made but they didn't fix it. Oh and there's no...
