Before I posted this review publicly, I have contacted this store directly on February 3rd through filling up an online form on their website (their email can’t be found anywhere) but I have never heard anything back.
Here is my sad experience during CNY in this store in Ubud: During my recent visit to your store, I purchased three necklaces — two for myself and one for my mother. Shortly after leaving the store, a shop assistant chased after us, claiming there was a pricing mistake and insisting we return to resolve it.
Upon our return, I was shocked to learn that my mother's necklace had a wrong price tag and that we were expected to pay an additional 500k in cash (which would have made it 2,000k). This is completely unacceptable! We had already paid the price clearly marked on the tag. Plus the shop assistant told us that a price tag comes in the bag which all new stock is packed in before being displayed. When my husband asked to see any new stock with price tags inside the bags, not a single piece had one price tag inside a bag. The entire situation felt incredibly shady.
I demanded to either keep the item at the price we have paid (which is fair and regulated by law in most countries, but I don’t know about Indonesia) or return and get a full refund, which she did not want to give to us. After going back and forth, and wasting so much time, I finally got a refund, but the damage was done — my mother’s mood was ruined for the rest of the day. The whole trip was arranged to celebrate her birthday and this experience made it incredibly negative.
To make matters worse, just now after looking at your website, I discovered that the jewelry I bought is not silver gold plated, as your staff claimed. Your staff said ALL jewelry in the store is silver gold plated. Why lie? She also couldn’t provide any information about the stones used in the pieces.
Your jewelry is very expensive, and this kind of experience is unacceptable. I understand that it’s hard to do business but you need to seriously address these issues, this is beyond frustrating and...
Read moreI’ve been a fan of Fineline’s jewelry for many years, first discovering their pieces through a lovely little shop called Mulan back home, which imports and sells their designs. Ever since, I’ve been in love with their style and quality.
So when I recently visited Bali, I was beyond excited to finally step into the Fineline store in Ubud. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it was such a joy to see so many of their designs in one place. Of course, I couldn’t leave without adding a few more pieces to my collection!
As someone who has worn their jewelry daily for years, I can truly vouch for the quality. Their pieces are made from gold-plated silver, and while the gold naturally wears off over time if (like me) you never take them off, the silver underneath is just as beautiful, almost as if it was always meant to be that way. The craftsmanship is impeccable, and their designs are...
Read moreWhat a gem in central Ubud! I visited this place twice during my stay.
The design is stylish and unique, with a Balinese touch on each piece that you probably won't find anywhere else.
The price is on the higher side, and I hope the quality justifies it.
The staff is friendly and accommodating. They won't pressure you, so feel free to take your time to consider your options!
Note to the owner: it will be great if the brand Instagram can be updated more often with your beautiful designs. Keen on knowing more about the new pieces...
