It’s a rainy day in Ubud, and what a way to kick off 2025! I wandered around the Jl. Bisma area and happened to pass by Shrida Restaurant. Initially, I just wanted a quick coffee to perk me up, but the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the team in their beautiful Balinese kebayas, each smile more welcoming than the last. I decided to sit by the pool to enjoy the breeze and ordered an iced Americano.
As I took my time browsing the menu, I was delighted by the variety of tempting options. Eventually, I decided to try the seared pan-fried salmon, and let me tell you—WOW! it was absolutely exceptional. From the moment it was presented, I could tell it was going to be a treat. The salmon was cooked to perfection 🤌🏼😋—crispy on the outside, yet tender and moist on the inside, and the dill cream sauce was the perfect finishing touch. It was clear that the chef truly understands their craft. My only minor critique is that some of the vegetables tasted a tad bitter—likely due to the freshness of the produce—but it wasn’t a dealbreaker at all. . The overall atmosphere of Shrida was so intimate and cozy, surrounded by lush greenery—it really felt like the perfect place to unwind and relax.
And the service—what a standout. Every staff member was so kind, attentive, and professional. They made sure I had everything I needed, and it felt like they genuinely cared about my experience. It was the kind of service that makes you feel special, and it truly elevated the entire dining experience.
In conclusion, Shrida Restaurant is at the top of my list of best dining spots in Ubud. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Semeton baru Shrida and team. Matur suksma dan sampai jumpa...
Read moreIt was a last minute decision to dine here but we are so glad that we did.
Firstly, the staff were delightful. They were super friendly, attended to our every need, very polite. It made for such a lovely experience.
Then, as we sat down we were given a delicious welcome drink. It was some sort of carrot, honey, turmeric shot. We were also given a small, free appetiser to try which was a great glimpse of things to come.
Between me and my husband, we ordered two starters, the sharing Indonesian platter, a glass of wine and two cocktails. The drinks were lovely; the cocktails in particular were the best we’ve had in Indonesia. The white wine was good. The starters were superb (goats cheese spring rolls + tempura prawns). The real highlight was the Indonesia sharing platter. It was so great to try such a range of different foods. The portion was also ginormous. I loved the explanation that came with each dish as well. The pudding was a cooled, chocolate dish with bits of fruit in, almost bubble tea style. All of this came to about £55.
The setting is sleek and sophisticated. The lanterns in the trees make it quite romantic and the giant pool makes it a really cool place to dine.
I cannot recommend this place enough. If you eat one meal in Ubud you MUST come here. It’s slightly out of the centre of Ubud, but we enjoyed the twenty minute walk people watching and popping into bars on the way. I cannot wait to...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience here. We had a group of 16, reserved well in advance. We were warmly received and enjoyed appetizers and drinks in the lobby. Nicely presented and served individually. With the pre-ordered set menu, we enjoyed a cocktail and a number of tasty appetizers. Then, we were escorted to a private dining room for our party.
The food was superb. From beginning to end, the appetizers, the second and third course, and the dessert were all wonderful. The wait staff was very attentive; there were always at least 2 wait staff on our private dining room floor. Dinner service was well timed, with all of our party receiving their entree at close to the same time (it always irritates me when service arrives at all different times for one party).
The ambience was great; with a private room we had no trouble conversing across the table or to neighbors. Having passed through the main restaurant (and trying out the restaurant 8 months ago when planning this trip), the ambience is very pleasant throughout.
The table was set beautifully! With flowers and candles, it was amazing.
The mushroom soup was to die for! Rich flavor, finished with a frothy egg white topping. Our party enjoyed both the Indonesian as well as the Western menu. All the dishes from each menu were wonderful.
We highly recommend Shrida when in Ubud. You will have a...
