My experience is deplorable the Supervisor of an Asian like and the cleaners are very rude and arrogant. It's the first worst experience I have seen living in a hostel we are treated so bad because it's the only hostel you stay longer period and therefore they take an advantage of that. You can be mishandled, discrimination and arrogance is played on your face because you don't have where to complain or where to go to, accommodation in Dublin is very painful and very devastating. You/we are desperate even payment is not uniform example rooms payment range between 15 and 16 Euro during the week but weekends it's 18 euro however that's only if such weekend is quiet otherwise it's more. They also have longer term where you pay 85 euro per week but the rooms are pathetic with people who are very tidy. Others pay 200 every two weeks but me this Supervisor told me be in a room of 8 people I have to 126 every week and not to keep on changing every now and then. The Supervisor lacks communication skills or his communication language or approach is so bad and very demeaning. In a world where there are no checks and balance like here in Dublin life can be very miserable I hope one day employers will care to know what customers and clients go through under some of their employees. Unfortunately this Supervisor and cleaners who are so bad are not native Irish, most of the Irish reception receptionist are very good, understanding but are mistreated by the Supervisors who are not native Irish. I hope someone in management of this hostel can come across this message and investigate the problems that are in this hostel. The fridge, freezer and ovens are not working and they don't care yet we live as we pay for accommodation and services which is not there. I hope one day governments will ensure professional ethics at places of work are held without mistreatment and discrimination. I am new in Ireland but I see God help...
Read moreI booked a stay for 19€ a night which was the cheapest I found in Dublin. To me the place was great value for that money, especially with the free 9-hour tour that was included with more than two nights. The rooms felt safe, apart from the lack of lockers to keep your things overnight. Facilities were clean enough, beds were comfortable and sheets were changed daily. I didn't leave my things in the bed for the day which resulted in another traveller taking it while I was out for the day and I found myself changing beds within the room every day. Numbered and allocated beds could be an improvement, however this didn't bother me much. There were some issues with the main door, which wouldn't open at times but the 24-hour reception meant there was always someone to help. Some guests seemed annoyed by the door, however it wasnt too big a deal for me as I was never in a huge rush to get in. One thing that did bother me was the lack of WiFi, which would have been needed and I especially missed as it was broadly advertised online. The staff were very apologetic and the situation was clearly out of their hands. The kitchen was great! Especially for those staying longer and willing to cook for themselves there's plenty of opportunity. The breakfast was very basic but it was free and included toast and cereal which for me was plenty for the price. The hostel is walking distance from everywhere! The only downside to a central location is a noisy road outside as well as a railway, which could be an issue if you're a light sleeper. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for cheap, basic accommodation in Dublin. The name is slightly misleading but I felt like I got my...
Read more9/1/19 to 9/4/19: Paddy's Palace Hostel-Dublin: This hostel is near the main bus station in Dublin, so it's best feature. Out of all the many hostels, B & B's, guest homes, etc., we stayed in over the summer of 2019, the past 87 days, this was the worst. On a positive note, it is in a great location and offers a free Paddy-Wagon Tour to guests who stay 2 or more nights. The building is old, as are many, so not an excuse, but it is poorly maintained and only moderately clean, the hot water taps have issues- you cannot turn them down, always too hot, the heaters were on and unable to be shut off, so way too warm in our room and the bathroom. Not usually a bad thing, but it was warm in Dublin, so uncomfortable. One of the showers on our floor, (Room 4-second floor) had a broken head, but it was at least able to be regulated to temperature and it got you reasonably wet enough to wash your hair, compared to the other one, which was complete, but only had scalding water. However, the water in the kitchen, where you would want it hotter, does not get hot at all, so makes me leary of how the dishes were washed, also no towels to dry the dishes. They advertise Wi-Fi, but we did not know it is only in reception area, not in the rooms, and did not work the entire 3 days we were there. To get to your room, you have to enter through a separate exterior door by ringing a buzzer. Unfortunately the buzzer did not work, and though we told the office and they agreed "Somebody" should put up a sign, no one ever did. However, the staff was very nice and it had a nice self-catering kitchen, and like I said, the location is great, close to the bus and tram and a colorful, old...
