Cortona Charme — Hotel in Cortona

We have rented Casa Giulia in the Cortona Charme palazzo for two months for the past three years. I admit we made a request to see if the firm stiff leather chair and sofa could be replaced with a more comfortable piece of furniture. It is a great apartment,and location and for one or two weeks this leather furniture could be ok,but two months was too long. Nothing was ever done and I guess we accepted that. We were hoping to rebook again this year and went on the Terratrusche site,they were the rental agents and it as not there. I went on Booking.com and it was listed but said no listings at this time. So I notified Terratrusche in early Jan.2017 about this. They got back to me early Feb. saying that they were not aware of the change until I notified them and that they were no longer the agents and it was a B&B now and the owners are making their own arrangements. The owners have done this without notifying any of their past clients.THEY COULD HAVE NOTIFIED US TO ASK IF WE WERE INTERESTED IN THE NEW SET UP. BUT NOTHING. THIS IS A PATHETIC WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS.IT HAS LEFT US SCRAMBLING TO FIND ANOTHER SPOT FOR SEVEN WEEKS. I HAVE SENT THEM BUSINESS IN THE PAST BUT NOT ANY MORE. PLUS I SHOULD ADD THAT THE ROOMS FACING THE STREET CAN BE VERY NOISY AT NIGHT WHICH MY DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND...

We really wanted to love our place, but ran into some issues. When I checked in, I was expecting a shower, but there was only a tub. A few minutes after the water was running, the tub began flooding the bathroom floor as water was leaking out underneath. I tried calling the number listed in the room for help several times, but no answer. I emailed, which they responded to within 20 minutes, and they brought us towels then left. No plumber, no assistance in cleaning up the flooded bathroom. The next morning, I requested an update, and they suggested I had used the sprayer from the tub and sprayed water on the floor. This time, I ran the water without going into the tub myself, and sure enough, water started streaming out from underneath the tub again. It was a 3 day stay and I never had a working tub as no plumber came to fix the issue. After checkout, I was accused of having broken a handrail in the building, not near the unit's entry, in a building that has many units. I stayed at Cortona Charme for 9 nights this April and I can not say enough about the Giulia and her gorgeous apartment. She was very attentive from the beginning of our reservation process to the end of our stay. She was consistently available to answer any questions we had. She even brought us firewood on a cold rainy night simply because I had asked if the fireplace was working :) ||The apartment is a beautifully restored rustic space with all the modern conveniences you could need. The enormous terrace overlooking the Valdichiana is just breathtaking! I could have stayed out there all day and night. The location is perfect for exploring Cortona, right in the center of everything yet tucked away in a historic building with the patio in the back so you feel like you're truly away ||from it all! We will definitely be back but for a little longer next time ;)...
