Room not ready at our time of arrival, although they explicitly ask for the time to guarantee the room being ready. Then toilet paper was not refilled after the previous guests, only one coffee pad was there for three guests and the tee and sugar packages looked like being crumbled by dozens of people before. The shower has no door, so after the first person has showered the next one using the toilet gets wet feet. The window in the bathroom has no shades/blinds and so in the very early morning you wake up by the light shining directly in your face. Breakfast for Italian levels with quite a lot options - however, eggs taste old and the coffee machine is broken, but you are actively invited by the staff to use it (it just doesn't add coffee to the water or milk it dispenses). After checking out and walking to the parking lot 2 blocks away you need to return a sheet of paper (parking permit) to the reception - but there is nothing on it that could not be printed again. So you have to cruise around several one-way streets just to bring back some paper. Florence is one of the most expensive cities when it comes to tourist taxes: 4 EUR per...
Read moreWe stayed at the deluxe apartment suite, which was not nearly as private as we expected. It was only a stanchion that separated us from the remainder of the hotel, and many people crossed it out of curiosity coming into our “private” space.
Staff was very inconsistent and at times quite rude. Communication was an issue, even when using translation apps, due to the lack of initiative from the staff.
Lastly, we booked this room specifically for the Jacuzzi access that it had, and even though we booked five months in advanced and checked multiple times before getting there, the Jacuzzi was out of service and when we requested for it to be fixed, at first, they were pushing back to say that they would not, it was not until I demanded to speak with the manager or owner that a solution was created, even though the solution did not fully work. Out of the six days we stayed. We were only able to access the Jacuzzi twice, and it was only hot on one of those occasions.
Overall, I would spend my money elsewhere in Tuscany if you are looking for a...
Read moreHad a lovely 3 day stay at the hotel. The staff working on reception were helpful giving us some very good eating recommendations and help with using the public transport. We stayed in the suite family room on the top floor which was very spacious and had a great views of the city and surrounding hills. The room was very clean and had a mini bar which served well for white wine cooling. It also had an outdoor hot tub which we didn’t make much use of but that was the weathers fault not the hotels. The breakfasts were really good and relaxed with a good range of items. The lady working the breakfast room was so lovely and friendly. We used a separate car park which was very close to the hotel on Via Giotto (15 euros a day). It’s about 1 mile walk to the centre and main attractions but there are several streets to walk down to get there which were all very interesting. You get the feeling you are staying away from the tourist areas which is something that suits us. Would recommend this...
