Our last night in Florence, and holy cow did we do it right. We start with the traditional Tuscan appetizer platter... Which turned out to be a ton of things each more delicious than the last. Pea souffle, pate and tomato bruschetta, fried zucchini flowers and ricotta, a sliced meat plate, and an incredible cucumber and tomato salad that makes my homemade version look like child's play.

Then as if that weren't enough, my wife got a veal steak with truffle and I got a steak steak with balsamic glaze and a side salad. Neither was on the menu - hers was the daily special and the chef created mine when I ordered a steak designed to serve 2 by accident. That would have been 1 kilogram - way too much for me. The resulting filet was tender, juicy, perfectly cooked, and delicious. My wife's veal was also scrumptious; in her words: "uhhhmmm.. yeah. I don't even know. Mouth watering veal and spinach that made me feel like I shouldn't ever cook spinach again, since it won't compare."

The owner was at our table along with our server, and helped us order, and her daughter operated the till. Family owned and operated by friendly people, delicious and creative meals, and the best tomatoes I've eaten in Italy.

Finally we had the daily special cake, with Chantilly cream, fresh fruit, and chocolate caramel stripe goodness. Practically had to roll us out the door.

I am so sad we only discovered this place on our last day, everything...

I TOTALLY DON'T RECOMMEND!!! THEY PLAYED US..WE were a group of 4 people that visited that place on Saturday 12/11/2022 for dinner. We didn' t have a reservation but after entering the place they told us we could sit. Actually we had the table next to the door. The waitress brought us the menus, explained the dishes and specials of the day. After five minutes they told us to go out for 2 minutes and wait for another table that they would prepare. We went out and a group of 4-5 people with a baby sat on our table. Totally understandable since they had a baby and couldn't stay outside to wait. Another group of 4 also waited in the restaurant even of they came after us. Surprisingly, they found a table! Probably they were locals. After 15 minutes we went inside to see what was going on. They told us that we didn't have a reservation but everyone else had and they insisted that they have already explained us the situation. Sorry guys you cannot fool us even if you speak...

BE WARNED that this restaurant is more interested in your money than providing an enjoyable dining experience.

New to Italy and tired on our first night after a long travel day, we asked the waiter for his recommendation. And instructed him that we only wanted one dish of the special.

The restaurant took it upon themselves, sensing our naïveté, to send out two dishes, not the ones we ordered. We wrote it off to poor communications and human error.

But when the bill came and we were clearly overcharged for a number of items, it was obvious that more was going on than just human error. The wine was clearly priced on the board, yet they also charged us more for it than it was priced.

NO OFFER was made to fix the food items or provide any adjustment.

Only after dinner and an argument was any adjustment to correct the wrong pricing made.

My wife and I were not the first to note of this...

Our spontaneous visit to the restaurant in Florence turned out to be a delightful surprise. Despite not having a reservation, we received a warm welcome. The cozy Tuscan decor created a charming atmosphere. Choosing from the tempting menu was a challenge, but our helpful waitress offered to select dishes for us. It was the best decision we made! We were treated to a sensory feast, starting with a fantastic white wine from San Gimignano. The highlight was the surprise starters—mouthwatering mushroom and truffle gnocchi that weren't on the menu. They were simply amazing! The sea bass main course, accompanied by delicious antipasti, exceeded our expectations. This dining experience marked a perfect beginning to our Florence trip. If you're looking for an unforgettable culinary adventure, we highly recommend this restaurant.
