Fuoripiazza — Restaurant in Florence

We tried the bistec alla fiorentina with a side of salad and potatoes and a margarita pizza. The pizza was fine, tasty and with a balance amount of ingredients without making it too heavy. The steak was a 800gr, is very similar to a T-bone, dried aged. The meat itself was high quality, inside was tender and medium rare. However, and this is why is only give 3 stars, is that they passed the point of cooking in the crust. The majority of the crust was almost burnt which made the taste experience quiet disappointing. The outside bitterness didn’t match with the flavor and tenderness of the inside. I have the sensation that the grilled temperature was too high and at the end it passed the caramelized point. This is something the chef might evaluated because we weren’t the only costumer that received the steak over sealed. Again, the product is very good, but the cooking method should be re-evaluated, such a good meat, carefully dried shouldn’t be spoilt by the cooking technique. Restaurant attention was excellent, very kind staff, even they showed us the steak on the dried process. Prices are very fair for the quality of the products. I’ll still recommend it and give it another try next time...

I Recently visited Fuoripiazza during my trip to Italy which consisted of visiting Rome, Venice and Murano also. I had a delightful meal here consisting of bruschetta and outstanding homemade pasta. I had an excellent waitress who really went the extra mile to explain things as best she could to my table. At the end of the meal, my partner and I were torn between two desserts the 'coconut chocolate cheesecake' and 'tiramisu' so the waitress very kindly offered us the two desserts (in smaller sizes) for the price of one so that we were able to try both and also gave us free limoncello and another liquor shots at the end.

The only thing that annoyed us a little was that some of our dinner came up as a different price on the bill than on the menu, only by 0.50 cents but it's the principle of the matter and be aware that they do charge 'coperto' which is a charge in Italy for using silver wear etc.

All in all a great...

Forse ho avuto sfortuna, tuttavia per la prima volta sono venuta la scorsa settimana in questa pizzeria su suggerimento di un'amica, e la mia esperienza non è stata proprio delle migliori. La pizza è ottima e lo staff molto cordiale, MA... avevamo prenotato alle 8,30 per 4. Ci siamo seduti alle 9,15. A parte il casino, tu ristoratore che dai via un tavolo che è prenotato come minimo dovresti subito dire a quella gente che entro una certa ora devono lasciarlo libero.... altrimenti a che serve prenotare? Anche perché c'era gente dopo di noi che non aveva prenotato e si è seduta poco dopo di noi.... Comunque, alle 10,30 le nostre 4 pizze non erano ancora arrivate (ok, c'era un po' di casino ma mi sono già trovata in varie pizzerie in situazioni di casino simili il sabato o il venerdì e quando ho preso solo la pizza non mi era mai capitato di attendere un'ora e un quarto). Come se non bastasse, purtroppo una delle persone che era con me è dovuta scappare a casa per un'urgenza quindi abbiamo chiesto se le pizze, quando sarebbero state pronte, potevamo direttamente portarle via invece di mangiarle al tavolo. Premetto che abbiamo preso solo una bottiglia d'acqua, non ci hanno portato il pane e non avevamo ancora ricevuto le pizze. Al momento del conto, il cassiere ci giura di averci tolto anche qualcosa dal conto e di non averci fatto pagare il coperto.... peccato che abbiamo speso 45 euro per 4 pizze da portar via e un'acqua al tavolo, oltre all'attesa per sederci. Le pizze erano tutte sotto i 10 euro... perciò dopo l attesa, anche la presa in giro. Mi dispiace molto perché la pizza era davvero ottima... hanno perso sicuramente una cliente (che non era mai stata cliente) e pure la mia amica che aveva suggerito questa pizzeria, amica che era invece cliente loro e che dopo questo comportamento ha detto che non ci tornerà....
