Don’t book !!! You will be asked to pay remotely via a link sent by WhatsApp even before checking-in. The reason is certainly because if you saw the room before you would not stay there. Let me explain:||The room is on the third floor ( actually fourth as there is an elevated ground floor) accessible via very small and sharp and numerous stairs . No elevator so good luck when you need to go to the room with luggage ( and plus baby & pram in our case).||The property doesn’t speak to you , no, they send you texts on WhatsApp. You get the access code for the doors. The only problem is that they seem to mess up things and send you the wrong code . So, you’ll try to call ( on WhatsApp and direct line) but the call doesn’t get through ( “user busy”). We waited 45 minutes ( calling every 5 min) in front of the closed door , with a baby feeling very hot and nappies that has to be changed . The woman who we finally managed to talk to (Anna?), instead of apologising, told us that it was not her problem if we were not able to type a code correctly (?!?!?!!!).||We enter in the room ( July, 40 degrees), and there is a fan coming right from the 80’s, a small window , a tiny tiny shower ( dirty) right next to the toilets , and a tiny lavabo.||I m writing this review while still in this horrible room as I asked Booking.com to register my complaint but with my husband and my baby we are leaving tomorrow morning, first thing, to another hotel.||The owner is really rude, not professional at all. She talked to us as if we were fighting in the street. That’s very dodgy , don’t book this place , it’s a nightmare.||We literally escaped at 8 am after this horrendous night by booking a room in a decent hotel . We of course asked for a refund / compensation but the owner refuses. My husband had to sleep on the floor as we were boiling on the bed. My 7 months old baby was sweating and crying all night long as the fan doesn’t bring any relief and makes a terrible noise !!! We paid €100/night and had to sleep on the floor !!!! Anna or whoever runs this slum, you are a shame to get money from us after what you have put us through, especially our...
Read moreWe went to Florence just for one night and I had high expectation of this place since all these reviews are very good. The location of the guest house is spot on - right in the centre of Florence, easy walking to everywhere! A couple of days earlier I have received an email from booking.com asking to advise what time our check in would be as this is a small property they wanted to make sure to have someone there. I stated that we would be there by 10am but we only got there at around 11am. We rang the doorbell and no one answered. A couple of minutes later, I decided to make a phone call and the guy told me that he would send us someone to open the door. Nothing wrong with that, fair enough. As soon as the door opened, we saw this massive steep staircase that seemed never ending. Luckly, we only had ONE light hand luggage. We had to walk up at least 60 steep steps before getting to our room. While walking up the place was dusty as they were refurbishing some rooms I guess. Moreover there was constant drilling all day long starting from 8am. We eventually got to our room and we found out that it was not ready at all! I understand that this is not a hotel (we only wanted a room to stay for one night) but since I have been asked my check in time, I would expect my room to be ready by 11am at least! The nice cleaning lady cleaned up everything and we were in our room 30 minutes later. Room was pretty and clean, bathroom was small but nice anyway! We didn't havr any soap or shower gel (we had to buy some later on the day) and there was not mat as it was a bit slippery ( this is just common sense, I am not asking for 5* hotel service).|The price we paid I think was fair but this place needs to be improved- they need people to know the amount of steps they need to climb all the time and they need just little adjustments in the rooms.| The bottom point is that I might choose somewhere else next time I go...
