We recently visited Florence and were thinking about purchasing a leather jacket for my daughter. We had heard about Il Perseo Leather, located at Borgo dei Greci, 24/R, Florence, from a friend who had shopped there when she was in Florence, and was so pleased with the quality of her purchases that she continues to order leather goods and custom bags from Il Perseo and has them sent to her in the States. When we entered the shop, we were in awe of the beautiful leather jackets and coats and colorful and stylish leather purses that surrounded us. Immediately it became clear to us why Il Perseo has such a fabulous reputation! The owner, Sam, is kind and warm, and extremely knowledgeable about leather and style! My daughter described to Sam exactly what she wanted, and Sam pulled from his stock a few stunning jackets for her to try on. He provided concise guidance regarding fit and style, and educated us in terms of the different leathers and their unique characteristics and properties. My daughter and her fiance were so pleased with her jacket that we returned to Il Perseo the next day so that her fiance could purchase one for himself. After seeing all these gorgeous purses, I decided I couldn't go home without one. This was no easy task as there were so many to choose from. Sam patiently helped me narrow down my many choices, and I am beyond happy with my final selection! My husband also purchased a beautiful leather tri-fold wallet! We had so much fun at Il Perseo and are so happy with our purchases! We will definitely continue to purchase fine leather goods from Sam...

I wish I could leave over a 5 star review for the Il Perseo Leather Shop! My fiancé and I went into this shop based on a recommendation from a friend who heard great things about Sam and his shop. Upon walking in, the selection of leather goods was overwhelming and he had many different / unique styles of leather jackets (what I specifically was looking for) that you just won’t find in the other stores or street vendors in Firenze. Sam and his wife Stephanie helped me find a style and fit that worked best for me and I ended up walking out with two amazing leather jackets for a really fair price. Right before checking out, I decided to buy my dad a leather wallet, which he also sold to me for a really fair price and it’s truly a beautiful and well designed wallet. Sam and Stephanie also chatted with us after purchasing and gave us great recommendations on restaurants, shops, and activities to check out in Firenze that turned out to be amazing! Bought 2 beautiful women handbags both in lovely dove gray (one for me and one for my mother) and 3 wallets today on our merry way around beautiful Florence. I knew as soon as Sam, the very friendly owner, invited us in to "just look" at cute things to bring home, that I wasn't going to come out empty-handed. Top choice quality leather and craftsmanship, all Italian and Florentine-made, which for me was really the point. The price was super fair - you can bargain and he will try to come up to a compromise. The time spent talking with Sam and trying on bags with no pressure was also such a pleasant experience. He had stories to share and he was kind to our kids and made them feel at home. When in Florence and looking for fine leather items that will last a long time, look no further than Il Perseo Firenze. Sam also kindly recommended, when I asked, to go to COI wholesale jewelry because it is known that Italian gold is another worthwhile item, besides leather, to purchase on a trip to Florence.
