This was one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at, period. Went here as a trio and was really looking forward to it, to begin with.
It truly felt like I was welcomed in my own home, seated like a local, being cared for by a very nice young man who even shared a number of words in our own language, which was very sweet.
The food was absolutely stunning, well executed and cooked to perfection. We had their house wine (really recommend it, the white) which is ideal for a group, a very tasty antipasti, then our main dishes in a combination of tastes consisting of a Pappardelle with wild board, Stewed Beef with a side of roasted potatoes and a Home made Lasagna. I’m at a loss for words to describe the taste, which was nothing short of heavenly. To end the evening, and our filled stomachs, we decided to also get Tiramisu. Super airy, creamy and ideal after such a hearty meal.
The location is iconic, as the same family has run the Trattoria since 1911, and you can feel it in every way! We are coming back here on each and every occasion when we’ll be visiting Firenze again.
To the current owner and the staff, grazie di cuore. You made our trip that much more beautiful, and sincerely...
Read moreWow is all I can say! It is difficult to find bad Italian food in Italy, but once in a while, you find a stunning place that trumps all others. This is one of those places. Off the beaten track, it's difficult to find simply by walking by, and once here, it's a very nondescript restaurant that belies the quality of the food inside. Or outside, which is the best place to sit- call ahead and make sure you reserve one if the tables on the street.
We have eaten everything on the menu on one of the several visits here. The pasta, OMG, the pasta- to die for. Try the Lasagna. Steak Florentine you ask? Let the owner Giovanni, tell you how much your party needs and you will not be disappointed. The wine list is small but not a bad bottle in the house- however, I would let the owner select your wine. And if you are lucky, he will have fried Zucchini Blossoms. If you have never had them before, you will hate me and you will spend the rest of your life seeking these incredible culinary delights.
What else can I say? Just to eat here, do not miss it. You can...
Read moreMy family and I had such a great experience at Pallottino! You arrive to see the menu hand written in the front of the restaurant, letting you know that this will be an authentic experience of Italian food and wine. Their pours of the house wine were quite generous, starting the evening off on the right foot. If you take away nothing else from this review, remember that YOU MUST TRY THEIR SAUCES. Please, please, please order a dish that comes with sauce - lasagna, spaghetti, whatever your favorite pasta on the menu is. I sampled three different pastas around the table and the sauces on each were amazing - I would have loved to ask them what went into each one. While the dessert menu looked tempting, make sure to check out the gelateria next door for some unique flavors and a cheaper way to get your...
