My apologies to the wonderful folks at Roma Five Suites for this overdue review. My wife and I stayed here for almost a week at the beginning of May 2025. Her first trip to Italy ever, for me the first in over 20 years and the first not for business. I was initially reluctant to book at a small unknown hotel â Iâve never stayed at a âboutiqueâ hotel before and wanted my wifeâs first experience in Italy to be positive. I overcame my reluctance after reading many positive reviews from prior guests and am very happy I did. The rooms were updated and extremely comfortable for our stay. While I was initially concerned at the idea of there not being any staff in attendance after 5pm or so, any fears were totally unfounded. We could not have asked for a better location for what we were looking for. Literally around corner of the Monument to Victor Emmanuel. The Coliseum and Forum, the Pantheon, the Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain â and shopping â all in easy walking distance. Our biggest regret was probably having reserved early morning tickets for many sites in order to beat the crowds â we did indeed beat the crowds most places, but that also meant missing some of the breakfasts that were prepared for the guests by Pietro, the owner, with great care and attention to detail. Every morning he presented selections of fresh fruit and pastries, local ham and prosciutto, quiches, freshly squeezed juice and cappuccino. The trip would have been successful and memorable regardless, but our everlasting thanks and gratitude to Pietro, Elena, and all the rest of the wonderful staff at Roma Five Suites for making it even more so....
Read moreMy wife and I just completed a very relaxing and enjoyable 4 night stay at the Roma Five Suites in Rome.
Roma Five Suites is located across the street from the Vittorio Emmanuelle ii Monument, which is in close proximity to the Colosseum, The Roman Forum, and Palantine Hill. It is an approximate 10 minute walk to these attractions. The Trastevere neighborhood is also in close proximity, as well as are most of the tourist attractions in Central Rome. It is in a very convenient location. As well, we had no trouble obtaining a taxi or an Uber ride for further journeys in town, waiting just across the street from the hotel in a small fountain area.
Our room was clean, cool, and comfortable. The bed is a king size mattress and is extremely comfortable. We had 4 very restful nights. Rome is a busy and bustling city, but with the sound proofing in the rooms you would never guess you were in downtown Rome. The room was very quiet.
The owner, Pietro, is an extremely energetic and accommodating host. The morning breakfast is exceptional. Fresh fruit, a variety of fresh cheese from the nearby market as well as a spread of aged Parmigiano cheese was provided. Every breakfast also had a variety of sliced meats that were delicious. We also had fresh baked foccacia (baked by the owner that morning) fresh croissants (pistachio cream!) and your choice of espresso, cappuccino, or Americano coffee. An assortment of tea is available along with fresh orange juice, and still and sparkling water.
If we were to return to Rome we would stay at the Roma...
Read moreWe wound getting booked in Roma Five Suites at last minute due to an airline strike causing us to need 3 nights in Rome. Wowee what a find! Rome is one of those European cities that is built upon stuff that may be over 1000 years old. So they never throw down buildings and put up new ones. They tend to repurpose them. The Roma Five is one of those. It is actually a floor of 5 suites within a commercial property.
Rooms are comfortable, location fantastic, view superb, value is great, staff is great.
But breakfast is something you will never forget!!! Breakfast is served only from 8am. The reason for this is that the owner, Pietro, personally picks up all ingredients from the markets at 7am, gets to hotel by 7:30 am and prepares amazing plates.
First day's breakfast: I was already in love when I tasted the fresh squeezed orange juice. We had perfectly sliced prosciutto - parma and local, best we had in all Rome. Fresh baked croissants - some plain, some cream stuffed, etc. Fruit plates. Vegetables ... it went on.
Pietro spends as much time with each guest as they would like.
It's our understanding that Pietro and family have extensive business holdings and that this little gem is his personal love. What you see and get reflects this love. Can't...
