Saporizzo — Restaurant in Rome

This place is a true delight, nestled in a convenient location for explorers to get a bite during their busy day. The staff here are world-class both in their friendliness and their hospitality. The main lady (maybe the owner?) welcomed us in with open arms and regaled us with tales of Rome and her favorite locations around the city. She gave crafted recommendations on the menu and gave us suggestions for what is delicious for our specific tastes. Also, the main man (also maybe the owner?) is a culinary master with decades of experience and a creative mind. This genius created a new sandwich on a recurring basis (I believe weekly) and uses fresh ingredients to deliver a delicacy that would delight even the ancient emperors. He similarly displayed a large degree of hospitality and indulged us with the inspiration behind his creations and his world-class sandwiches. I would recommend this...

Walking around Rome in the blasting heat we accidentally found this little place to stop for lunch. Sandwiches looked great, made from freshly prepared ingredients. The place had a good feel about it, far from what you'd expect in a busy touristy area. We ordered number 1 and 2 and decided to eat outside. Little did I know the local seagulls fancied Saporizzo lunch too. I barely had one bite when two seaguls dived at me out of nowhere stealing my sandwich... with this being witnessed by the staff and I think the owner, they called me back in and kindly offered a new sandwich to replace the stolen one. I really appreciate the gesture as I'm certain this would not be the case in many places. I ate my new sandwich inside in a lovely atmosphere, really impressed by the friendliness of the staff especially considering the busy location. A story...

Absolutely fantastic! My wife and I (Americans) were looking for a place near the Colosseum and the Roman Forum where we could both eat (she is vegan), and we happened upon Saporizzo. We were both EXTREMELY glad we did! Our sandwiches were incredible. The bread (or "pizza," as the young lady who made our lunch corrected me!) was remarkably fresh and tasty, as were all the ingredients. The staff was very friendly and hospitable, and the price of our meal was extremely reasonable, especially considering the proximity to such busy tourist areas. As we mentioned to our hostess before we left, we wish we could eat lunch...
