Stayed at Romance Cosimato for 4 nights in early July 2015 in room 3. I have mixed feelings about the experience, it was really just "OK" - however there is potential for this to get better if the establishment makes some small changes. This is a fairly new hotel/B&B, 4 months old only, which has clearly just undergone renovations. ||||Pros:||Price - affordable for Rome||Location - Amazing location in the heart of Trastevere neighbourhood close to shops and the main square; great location for public transit to the airport and Roma Termini station and main sites via bus; very close to the busy Trastevere nightlife with many excellent restaurants (try Pizza Ivo!)||Room - Cleanliness, the room was spotless with clean linens, cleaned daily; no street noise; dark curtains were a plus; great water pressure in the shower.||Breakfast - nothing special, does the trick, all the staples are available||||Cons/need to improve:||General: the owner should communicate better that this is really a mix of a hotel/B&B - there is no sign outside the hotel and the buzzer is hard to see, but it is there if you look hard! There is staff only on-site between 8am-12pm for breakfast and room cleaning, and they will meet you with the keys when you arrive if you arrange in advance. No staff around the rest of the time which should be fine, however in our 4-day stay the wifi stopped working many times and there were regular power outages that meant a loud beeping alarm went off and a light would turn on in the room - not a welcome situation at 3am when no one is on site to fix the situation or at least explain what is going on. Staff is reachable by text message and were responsive, but it all seemed a bit random and annoying to deal with. Also we slept-in one day and were informed at noon that the staff were leaving at noon, so no room refresh for that day - not a huge issue, but if we had been made aware of the timelines we could have arranged accordingly. ||Due to the no-staff confusion, one guest seemed to be locked out of his room at 6am and shouted/knocked on all doors "is anyone here". Again, not a major issue, but definitely annoying. ||||Room: although very clean, the room is lacking a few small things like luggage stands or at least a few chairs, we had to keep our luggage and things on the floor, just a bit annoying given there is space for some stands or something of the like. We couldn't open the window which made the room dark. Overall it wasn't really a room that you feel like hanging out in - it does the trick but nothing more. The room itself is quiet however any noise in the hallway echoes loudly into the room. ||||Overall an average experience. There is a lot of potential for this little hotel/B&B and I hope they make some small improvements so it an become a nicer...
Read moreI put one star because I cannot put zero. Probably the worst accommodation I’ve stayed in years.
-small bugs around the bathroom, towels included (video attached). -door was completely forced when we arrived, and even after lock it with the keys, it was zero secure. We have to ask to fix it as we were really unsure. (Picture attached). -Locker was not working, so no place to jeep safe your personal stuff. -No shampoo and shower gel on the bathroom. We arrived late in the evening so we weren’t able to take a shower in the morning. -No signal inside the room. And even though it was “free WiFi”, we were impossible to connect to it, so everytime we were in the room, we were fully off-line. -Supposedly it was a daily cleaning service we were not aware of, and we found put cleaning entered our room and clean without us acknowledging it. It is not a hotel, are room with keys, so we were really surprised someone enter our locked room to clean with no previous notice. -It was not a double bed, there were two individual ones put together, which is really uncomfortable. -Really poorly ventilation on the room, as is a room that ventilates to an interior patio on a first floor. -TV not working, as of course there was no signal inside the room. -No one claims to us the tourist fee until the last night at midnight, and he owner told us that it was mandatory to pay it only on cash, even tho booming that’s not say anything about it, only “some charges will be collected by the property”. This forced us to make a withdrawal with barely no time our last morning, and pay a commission. -No iron. -Hairdryer really bad quality, it was honestly really hard to dry a long...
Read moreWe stayed at the ROMAnce Cosimato Trastevere B&B for 6 nights. We got worried a little when we arrived because it was not clear at the moment of booking that there were also regular apartments (locals live there). However, once inside the building, there is a separate area for the rooms people book for their vacations. It is safe, and clean. ||||The rooms are small but they are ok for two people. The first day we had a problem with the toilet. They changed us room, got it repaired and we were able to enter our room the morning after.||||The biggest plus is the area. It is in Trastevere, a very nice area for local food with plenty of restaurants and bars around it. It is by far my preferred area in Rome. ||||The B&B is facing a bar. So depending on the night, you could hear people talking and having fun outside. However, not enough to keep you awake all night, don't worry! :)||||The beds are comfortable, you will sleep well there. Also, details that people never mention is about the showers. They are great and powerful! :)||||I recommend this place in this great area. You will for sure enjoy your time there.||||PS: Each morning the lady brought Coffee, Croissants, Cereals, Yogurts, etc. Everything is freshly made every time and still hot if you wake up early. I never had once to have breakfast outside the B&B. This is another big plus. Especially if you like good croissants and GREAT coffee...
