Rome Plaza Suites, Luxury Collection — Hotel in Rome

Just finished from my Stay at this accomodation today. Unfortunately this was the only thing that tarnished my Honeymoon trip in an otherwise beautiful city. Could not get out of here sooner.

Upon check in, we were greeted by the host who seemed nice. He quickly took our payment and showed us our room. It looked fine at first. He notified us that there would be towels on request and that simple items like waters would be replenished everyday (keep this in mind for later)

The main reason we booked this was because it looked like such a great room in the middle of a very popular area so we were excited but that all went downhill very quickly. Let’s start with the bathtub; I booked this property because I thought the bathtub was nice and clean and would be relaxing to use. On my second day I decided to turn it on to finally use it to unwind a little. To my astonishment, the bathtub let out the most foul odour and began to spit out what looked like black dirt. I quickly turned it off and completely turned away from the idea of using that tub which completely bummed me out.

Next, let’s recall the towels. The property provides 2 full body towels and 2 hand towels everyday. Now I didn’t know that this was strictly enforced because every property I have been to, will not hesitate to provide more towels if needed. We even let him know from check in that we need extra towels then upon our request for towels, the host had the audacity to say he wanted to charge me extra money for two body towels. What if theoretically I wanted to shower in the morning and use the spa at night… am I meant to dry off with the wet towel I used earlier that day ?

Another thing… the water bottles which we were told would be replenished… were not replenished once. Until we had to step up and actually say something to the host. We had water bottles replenished once over our 5 night stay when he told us they would be replenished daily. We had just come from an accomodation in Sorrento where the host would replenish everything daily including cold meats & cheeses, snacks, drinks etc. Now we weren’t expecting the exact same treatment but they could not even replenish waters which was so disappointing.

Let me tell you, there is nothing “luxury” about this place. There is very bad craftmanship, the shower has no door meaning after a shower there is water all over the bathroom, they don’t even supply you with basic necessities, there is gaps in bathroom ceilings. The provided hair dryer is terrible and what really threw me over the edge is that the iron & ironing board they provide is disgusting and doesn’t even work. It looks like someone took a dump on it. Nothing here is worth what you’re paying.

I made my frustrations about the situation known to the host and he could not even reply to me. Just leaving the messages on seen and upon checkout saying “I did not know how to reply to you because you were right”. I do not know what else I could possibly say but we are utterly disappointed and this property will be the most memorable thing of the honeymoon, all for the wrong reasons. This place is a construction site. Entire building is covered in scaffolding so opening to your balconies means opening to dust and workmen. Apartment next door has also been gutted and adds to the noise and dust. Front desk said work will continue till at least July. Sono stata ospite di questo B&B durante un viaggio di lavoro e non avrei potuto fare scelta migliore. La posizione è centralissima, con una vista spettacolare su Piazza del Popolo, e la fermata della metro proprio sotto lo rende perfetto per spostarsi rapidamente in tutta la città, anche con appuntamenti serrati.

La struttura è molto curata e davvero bella, accogliente e arredata con gusto, un dettaglio che fa davvero la differenza.

Il livello del servizio è altissimo: il Sig. Luca è stato impeccabile, sempre disponibile e pronto a risolvere ogni esigenza con efficienza e gentilezza. Ho apprezzato molto anche l’atmosfera tranquilla, ideale per rilassarsi dopo una giornata intensa.
