Unfortunately I did not have a pleasant experience here. Service: A host greeted us on the street, inviting us to browse the menu and was able to seat us immediately (there are plenty of tables available). The vibe here is a bit chaotic, the servers are quite busy, we were asked by three people if we were ready to order after we had placed our orders. The servers were all very pleasant but did have me feeling like I was being rushed (odd, I know, for a normal Italian restaurant). Food: We shared an appetizer of the crostini with buratta and smoked salmon. The buratta was cold and the inside was not runny but a thick consistency. Buratta should be room temp and have a runny egg/cream-like texture. For main, I ordered the gnocchi alla sorrentina, hoping that it would be good since it’s a regional dish, but the gnocchi were tough/chewy, and there wasn’t much sauce. My partner ordered the seafood risotto and will say that was absolutely delicious. Very well seasoned and plated. I recommend this dish if you find yourself here. We did not get dessert but I did see many people order them. Most of the desserts are served in martini glasses which I saw not one, but two break during our time there. Maybe just a bowl or plate from now on? Atmosphere: There is a very large raised covered deck with many tables. It can be difficult to navigate to your table because of how close they are. Red and white color scheme feels traditional. Our table was on the edge of the raised deck and made me a little nervous that it would fall. There is no music. There is a 4€ coperto. Overall, this was not a great experience for me and I won’t likely return.

We had lunch at the restaurant next to this (Blu water) the day before, assuming that its food would be similar. Ordered a Carbonara (12Eur) and Seafood pasta (20Eur), with a bottle of sparkling water. Unlike the waiter from Blu water, they did not give us any spoon for the pasta. Carbonara was up to standard with bacon and good blend of egg and cheese. Seafood pasta was lackluster - the 3 prawns were shelled and scrawny, 4 mussels of which 2 were unopened and therefore had weird taste, and a few tiny clams already fallen out from their shells. The menu at the entrance said "no corpeto" but we were still charged 4Eur corperto in the receipt which was not returned to us upon collection of payment. Would have clarified the matter if I spoke Italian. Environment wise it is pleasantly located in a small street with the choice of outdoor sheltered or indoor seating, pretty much alike other restaurant in the vicinity. Overall would recommend travellers to visit the restaurant just upstream to this (Blu water) for its seafood pasta was much more decent, waiter more attentive to the needs of the patrons and there was really no corpeto, as per its menu on entrance.

We unfortunately had a very bad time at La Cazzarola. I am vegetarian and ordered the ravioli caprese after being told it was vegetarian. There must be poor kitchen hygiene and contamination issues with the meat or fish. I have had food poisoning after visiting La Carrazola for lunch. At lunch I felt the restaurant was nice, clean, cute, good service. The toilets were excellent. I was placed in a rather rubbish spot by the entrance and was coughed on by a lot of waiters. I didn’t mind the position too much as am now used to more mad dining positions in trattorias in Naples. My first indication something might be up was that there was no pizza oven. The restaurant isn’t pizzeria but having pizza on the menu in Naples you assume it’s made the traditional way. My partner’s pizza was like a “frozen pizza from a supermarket with soup on top”. The pizzas should be taken off the menu entirely as they just diminish it with the very poor quality. I am still recovering from food poisoning and have had 2.5 days of holiday ruined being sick. I wish I had never stepped foot in La Cazzarola Trattoria

Tourist trap of a restaurant. Everyday on our way to the beach we were approached by one of their many street hustlers, asking us to come in for food or a drink. We declined everyday, but my son wanted some noodles with white sauce like we had in Rome. The outside hustler said that they could make the dish. We reluctantly went inside for dinner on our last night in town. I first noticed the tight table arrangement, and thought tourist trap. We were seated and our drink order taken like any other place we had previously visited in Italy. When it came time to order, their promises fell short on the cacio de pepe they sold us on. They could only provide buttered noodles, which we could live with, but we’re not happy about. I ordered the steak with fries and my wife a salad. The steak needed seasoning, like it had zero salt or pepper. It was edible and it was cooked perfectly, so I enjoyed it. Their only redeeming quality was their fries, which seemed homemade and very crisp. When I asked for the bill, the waitress came to the table and made a point of informing me that the service was not included. I had them rebutted her claim while pointing that the 2 euro per person Coperto charge on the bill, and asked her this was. She explained that it was the table charge and the service wasn’t included. She then asked if I would like to leave a tip on the card transaction. I told her no, which she informed me that I could leave a tip on the card or I could leave cash in the bill holder. She was very pushy about getting a tip from tourists, and the entire place felt very rushed, like they were just trying to pump tourists in and out of their over priced, low quality food restaurant. I would advice visiting Gnocchi down the alley, much better service without the pushy hustlers and...

I went there for a late lunch and I saw that there were people sat outside eating. When I asked a waiter if I could have lunch, he replied that I can make a reservation for dinner. I asked: "So the kitchen is closed?" He replied: "No, our kitchen is open all day." Then he asked me to take a seat anywhere I liked and I did. I was really confused because another waiter was standing at the front of the restaurant asking people who pass by if they wanted to come in for drinks or food. This was constant throughout the time that I sat there for lunch. I ordered a starter and a main - both were below average and had zero seasoning. When I asked another waiter for some black pepper and he brought chili flakes instead. After he brought the black pepper, he said something in an angry tone in Italian. Since I only understand little Italian, I didn't know what he said. But I confirmed with his colleague that it was something rude and that he is stressed. As an empath, my experience at this restaurant was horrible and it truly left a bad impression on my last day in Sorrento. In front of this restaurant is a perfume store where the lady is asking passers-by to try samples. If you're looking for a touristy experience where you are not respected, this is the place to go. I personally went there only because not many places are open for a very late lunch. Plus, there were many positive reviews. I honestly regret visiting this place and especially since it was my last day in Sorrento. The town is too touristy for my liking and La Cazzarola simply confirmed this fact to me. Avoid at all costs and grab a sandwich from any small, cozy place instead. Unless you want to feel disrespected while on vacation. Thank you for ruining my last meal in Sorrento and for showing me the reality...

Unfortunately the worst restaurant on our trip. Setting was nice. We ordered 2 pasta dishes and a few drinks.

I’d say that the most important thing about a restaurant is the actual food. I ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce (Sorrento style) and the sauce look red but once you put a fork in it, it was all only melted cheese. So bad that I struggled to eat it even with cutting the cheese with a knife. I assumed that that was the Sorrento style but after eating for a few minute my palate got really irritated and I had an irritated stomach later on as well. The taste also was not pleasant at all. (I had the same dish in a different restaurant the following day in case it was just me but it was delicious there!). My partner had a different dish- pasta with potatoes and the cheese problem and not pleasant taste were the same there

The waiter was pleasant but kept apologising to all the guests for the long waiting times because of the kitchen being super busy but half of the tables were empty. We’re wondering whether they had some new guy in the kitchen who just did not know what he was doing and we were just unlucky to be there that night!

I also did not get the wine, we had to ask at the end for the waiter to take it off the bill.

We were told at our accommodation that we get 10% discount in this restaurant and while we never use it because we’re embarrassed to ask for a 4€ discount, in this case we wanted to so we didn’t pay 40€+ for an unpleasant food like this. We were however told by the waiter that the discount applies only to the food shop inside.

Maybe we were just unlucky that night but it is certainly an unpleasant holiday...
