Supermercato Despar Cannaregio (ex Brek) — Local services in Venice

The opening hours for the shop were supposed to be until half past nine - Google said so - at least. Unfortunately we were told different, when we entered at 20:25. The shop would close in a few minutes. We hurried in and just wanted to pick up some groceries. At exactly 20:30 the security guard started to run through the shop screaming that we must go, although we were already on our way to pay. It was really unpleasant when he started to chase customers and taking away stuff - people were going to pay for.

The opening hours should be changed immediately-although Google says that the owner did that just a week ago. I wonder why they are not up to date already.

And if you want that people come and shop at your store again - the staff should remain polite - I am really scared - and will never step in...

Almost at the close time tonight, there was a very rude employee. When we entered he said “it's closing in one minute, not two or three, just one minute”. As me an my wife wanted just a bottle of water we thought we'd have got enough time to buy it. But the man a few seconds later followed us and start saying “1 minute, 1 minute, it’s closing, you have to get out”. Obviously I didn’t buy the water, I went out empty and told the man he was being very rude and impolite.

My tip: don’t let the customers come inside if you don’t want them to be there.

1. Just tell the customer it’s closed.
2. Never follow a customer.
3. Stop repeating expressions like “1 minute”.

Ps. The Italians are not rude att all, they are usually very polite and helpful with...

OMG worth buying something just to visit this Italian beautiful supermarket - just amazing

Always good to visit a supermarket in Italy but this one is extra special

And of course you get better deals than buying from a cafe or our in the street

I also wanted just some fruit for lunch …something fresh and good for me - rather than bread pasta or cheese

Don’t get me wrong it’s great ….but sometimes you just need some fruit !

Anyway grabbed some food for the train and a few drinks - low cost and really interesting place just to visit

Love a supermarket particularly an italian supermarket

Just around the corner from our hotel - Ai Mori d Driente …also good location !

Go mad as it’s hard not...
