RESI STAY Tsubaki — Hotel in Kyoto

Excellent accommodation with a prime location, ideally located close to Gion attractions such as the Kamogawa River and Kiyomizudera Temple. The nearby bus stop (Kawaramachi Matsubara) also provides easy access to Kyoto Station. A taxi from Kyoto Station to Resi Stay costs around 1200-1400 yen, so sharing a taxi with more people is a better option. The accommodation is surrounded by a charming street, and there are maiko passing by at night.

The rooms are really pleasant and well equipped with basic toiletries, cutlery, ironing facilities, a vacuum cleaner, and a complimentary bottle of water. The in-room washer-dryer is a great convenience.

One thing to note is that before using the washing machine, it's essential to clean the drum to avoid clothes getting dirty. Additionally, clothes may need to be dried twice, as the first cycle may not be sufficient, and the drying process can take more than 6 hours.

Despite these minor concerns, Resi Stay provides a comfortable and pleasant experience, and I would definitely consider returning...

We really like the neighborhood and the room looked good online. The RESI reception staff (based at a different location) was also very nice. However, when we got to our room we were immediately put off — there was a dank, unpleasant odor with a layer of harsh chemical cleaner over it all. My partner’s eyes & skin started reacting. Neither of us wanted to spend a night there, much less the 4 nights we had reserved. We’ve never done this, but we decided to leave immediately and find other accommodations, which was a stretch for us. We reached out to RESI and explained the situation, but they claimed there was no issue and that they wouldn’t refund any of the 4 nights that we weren’t...
