I came to this place because I wanted to visit a restaurant that is not full of tourist and serves good quality sushi. This place attracted me because it seems to be off the beaten path, but English menu is available.
The restaurant's environment is clean, and seems to be operated by a family of 2 generations. Outside, there is a sign that says it has been in business since 1914.
The menu is completely sushi, but there are plenty to choose from. I had a regular churashi and my husband had a nagiri combo, both off of the lunch menu. We also order an extra order of hamosushi (pressed sushi or box sushi with hamo fish on top) and nagitoro (toro roll with scallion). The quality was solid and the food was delicious.
The service was also friendly. We were able to communicate with them in English, and able to get service right away.

Soon after, other customers came and he didn't turn them away. I don't like the way they treat their customers and will not...

The sushi was the lowest quality we've had in Japan (or most places in the States). It was overpriced and didn't taste good, but I'm more concerned about the freshness. The eel was chewy and some of the other fish was slightly slimy. We both have stomach aches.
In hindsight, the restaurant's fishy smell and lack of other patrons should have warned us. I'd recommend other sushi spots nearby that have more ratings. Consider waiting in line at a popular restaurant or try somewhere frequented...
