I recently stumbled upon Waco Crepes during my visit to Kyoto, and I can't contain my excitement about this incredible gluten-free and vegan haven! Nestled in a cozy corner, Waco Crepes is an absolute gem that caters to those with dietary restrictions without compromising on taste or quality.

As someone with a wheat allergy, finding a dedicated gluten-free establishment is a dream come true. Waco Crepes not only boasts a 100% gluten-free menu but also offers vegan options for everything. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone, regardless of their dietary preferences, can indulge in the deliciousness.

What impressed me the most was the attentiveness of the staff towards allergies. They took the time to check in with us, ensuring they were aware of any specific dietary concerns or sensitivities. While I should have inquired about the ingredients myself, I was pleased to discover that the gluten-free crepe was also vegan. However, please note that the crepe does contain bananas, so exercise caution if you have a banana allergy.

The owner and staff at Waco Crepes are not only friendly but also incredibly kind-hearted individuals. They genuinely care about their customers' well-being and go above and beyond to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Their dedication to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience shines through in every aspect of their service.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the crepes! The crepe I had at Waco Crepes was an absolute delight. The perfect balance of flavors and textures made each bite a heavenly experience. The fact that it was both gluten-free and vegan made it even more remarkable. The cozy ambiance of the place added an extra touch of warmth to the entire experience, making it a truly...

These are the best crepes I’ve ever had IN. MY. LIFE. 🎉 I’m not kidding. I had the savory guacamole with vegan cheese and I felt like I went to heaven. In that moment, I seriously thought I could die happily. I was so happy 😆 Don’t even get me started on the matcha latte and sweet crepes 😭 Everything was so good! If I could, I would go there every day. ❤️ There are so many vegan and gluten free options. I am go grateful to the owner for thinking of those with allergies and those who just want to feel better overall. You can tell when someone pours their soul in to their work and loves what they do, and this is the place where you will find that.

I went to this place so often that I learned about the quality of ingredients that she uses and the work that she endures to perfect each dish. This place deserves a Michelin star, if not five Michelin stars. ⭐️

I have to remember this is a review so I will keep it short. If you like anything delicious… run, don’t walk. Because this place is amazing ✨✨✨ I wish the dear owner much luck and gratitude! Thank you for making my trip to Kyoto many times better with delicious food and company! ❤️ I hope that I will be able to stop by again soon...

Best crepes I’ve ever eaten- better, tastier, crispier than regular ones and they re browned to perfection! 😋

I had a salmon cream cheese with some guacamole for lunch then had a whipped cream and chocolate one for dessert, it’s a heavenly dream! 🤩😍

Pro tip: They speak English very well & they are happy to adjust the amount of cream & chocolate if you d like it a little on the lighter side like me.

Decor is also gorgeous & relaxing with beautiful green plants all around, and because apparently it’s in an old Geisha/ Maiko street, you may see Maiko walking around.

The coolest part is it’s run by a strong local woman whose family has had this store for a long time. I was so happy to see this because women-led businesses in Japan are rare and worth supporting.

It was so inspiring to hear that she invented & perfected this unique recipe and got the idea to open this cafe after a very difficult year time in her life.

Thanks for creating this great cafe & crepes and making gluten free & vegan community feel more included & happier Yuko san, we are grateful for this amazing...

This place was amazing. The crepes were so delicious and the ingredients used for the fillings were so fresh and delicious. We tried the: salsa & sausage, cheese and Guacamole, cinnamon sugar & butter and pineapple cream cheese & honey over two visits. All of them were so delicious but our favs were the guacamole & cheese & cinnamon one. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good food but especially for gluten free people, it is the perfect place to stop and grab a quick snack while enjoying the Gion area. It was so comforting knowing everything was gluten free. The shop-owner spoke English & was so kind to offer us recommendations for other celiac friendly restaurants in the area. I will be dreaming about these crepes for a long time and hope I can have them again at some point.

Amazing all gluten free creperie. Celiacs rejoice! As a celiac traveling Japan for the last week, I'm very impressed with this shop. I ordered a ham and cheese on a regular crepe, and my partner (not celiac) ordered a smoked salmon and cream cheese on a matcha crepe. We both agree his was a bit tastier overall, but they were both very delicious. They wrote a cute little note and doodle on each of our crepes, and they spoke wonderful, clear english. The whole experience was definitely in my top rated during my time here. You can also take your crepe to go and walk the beautiful river just across the street, if that's more your speed. Fair warning, the shop is a bit small, but there is seating inside and outside.
