Would give negative 5 stars if allowed. Came here a few years ago and liked the tsukemen. Brought my family with me on 28 June 2024 for dinner and was met the most atrocious service from a female service staff and a male manager. It was my familyâs first time in Japan and it totally ruined their impression of Japan.
We had arrived and started queueing for about 10minutes, the queue was long and snaking with a few turns. We were on the outer side of the queue, in the opposite direction as the inner queue. The female service staff in question came and asked us move to the end of the queue and to turn the other way (we were now facing the same direction of the inner queue). At this point the queue was super weird, it looked like there were 2 queues in the same direction?? Just did not make sense. She was telling people to move here and there without any explanation or anything. When she left, a few people from behind us went ahead and took our earlier spots in the queue??? We were so confused, so we went to ask the female service staff why she made us queue that way. It looked like we were not even in the queue anymore.
Guess what her reaction was, she kept asking us to join the end of the queue, meaning we had to queue again from the start?! There was some commotion going on by now and the male manager came out, asked the female staff what happened and BOTH of them proceeded to ask all 6 of us to join the end of the queue. He did not even ask us what happened. While we did try to use google translate to explain what happened. He simply dismissed us multiple times and waved us to rejoin the queue at the end. He seemed like he did not want to bother the other customers, but a simple explanation/ apology/ actually bothering to listen to us would have made this whole experience less infuriating.
To add the cherry on top, the female staff actually PUSHED my sister to join the end of the queue. To which, my sister shook her off and all of us walked away.
The most horrendous and horrifying service we have ever received. Not at any time did they even try to apologise for the confusion and THEIR MISTAKE, or even offer any explanation. Will not be visiting ever again and will be telling everyone to avoid this place.
Not sure why in Tokyo station, the staff are unable to speak English, or maybe they just could not be bothered to deal with us. Also disappointed that with so many Japanese people there (in the queue) who witnessed the whole thing, not a single one stood out to offer help or explain to the service staff/manager. Really disappointed.. and upset that I brought my family there and they had to...
Read moreThis shop is super rude and staff not friendly at all against tourist!!!!!!!!! I have bookmarked this restaurant before I travelled to Tokyo this July. I was queueing at the Tokyo Station branch that day and a female staff asked us to order at the machine first. However, after I chose the noodles and insert money, the machine failed to detect my 100YEN coin. No problem with the 1000YEN banknote, but all coins cannot be detected. I told the female staff about this, but she just kept asking me to "input banknote, then coins, then choose noodles". I tried again but same thing happened again. All coins cannot be detected nor returned from the machine. I asked the female staff again and tried to use Google Translate to tell her the problem, but she cannot understand at all. Then I gave up and insert two 1000YEN banknotes and successfully ordered one noodle. But then when I ordered the second noodle and used coins again, the same problem happened again. I asked the female staff and she just took away all my coins on hand. I was so confused with the machine that moment and cannot respond to her ridicious act!!!!! Then she was back and said the machine has given changes (the noodle is 1xxx YEN and I put 2000 YEN). I said that is not the problem. The problem is all coins were gone. Then she cannot understand again and just found another male staff to help. I then used my simple Japanese to ask the male to wait and showed him how I ordered and how the machine got wrong. He finally realized the problem and unlocked the machine to try to fix it. The female staff then went to manually help other customers to place order, but kept ignoring me and just like I was transparent!!!!!! I told her I also not yet finish order my food and she just walked away, so RUDE!!!!!!! Then the male staff found out somebody used a fake coin making the machine broken, and implictly said it's me doing that!!!!!! I was too angry that this shop and all the staff have been wasting me a long time and being rude and impolite to me. When I asked to cancel the order, the female just ignored me again. We just standing there doing nothing and watching the male to fix the machine for more than 15 minutes. The whole ordering process wasted me nearly half an hour!!!! The male end up helped us to cancel the order, but kept using Japanese to talk to the female saying we were difficult customers and made their machine broken and thought we cannot understand at all. I will never visit this shop again and of course will not...
Read moreOverall Experience The food wasnât bad, but it wasnât good enough to come back considering the price, vibe, and wait time. Service At the 15 minute mark of waiting, they direct you to the ticket station to purchase. Things were very efficient, and I was offered an apron to protect my clothes (which was nice since I was wearing a white sweater) After that, standard âhereâs your foodâ and âthank youâ at the end. Quality Maybe it was the tsukemen since I havenât had it as often as the other types of noodles, but by the time I dipped my second chopstick full serving of noodles, my broth was cold. I was having a lukewarm food experience which I couldnât understand. Broth was a little salty and I got sick of the taste after a while so I couldnât finish my noodles. They have water on the table to have with your food. Ambience This is a hurry up and eat kind of place. Weâve lined up for other ramen places where service was very fast, but I never felt rushed. Here, I just wanted to get out of there. It also doesnât help that my husband and I were seated almost shoulder to shoulder with the next group. No dividers or anything, we were literally sharing a table and I had to put all our things right beside me. Nowhere to place anything including my handbag. It was hard to take a photo of my food without getting strangers in the photo. There wasnât any good angle. Value We got an extra large which was „1350 which was more than enough food considering I hadnât eaten since the day before and it was 12PM. Wait Time It was lunch time and we joined the line that wrapped around at around 11:10AM. We were seated at 11:40ish and got our food 5-10minutes after. Highlights The broth was meaty and noodles really good. I liked the taste, it was just so so cold that it was like it was pulled out of a fridge. Suggestions for Improvement Even plastic dividers would help keep some amount of privacy. Also, less salty on the broth and hotter. Recommendations If you HAVE to have this, get a small or regular size. Itâs enough I promise. The seasoning on top of the leaf helps your broth taste better, but put it little by little to taste. If you see the line wrap and not just 5 people, GO ELSEWHERE. Maybe next door to the 10000 other ramen shops. The wait...
