Disappointing Stay, Despite a Great Location
We recently stayed at this hotel, and while we were initially excited about its convenient location—just a short 3-5 minute walk from Asakusa Station—the overall experience was disappointing, to say the least.
Cleanliness & Maintenance: One of the most alarming issues was the cleanliness (or lack thereof). Trash and miscellaneous items were scattered throughout the lobby and in the elevator, creating an immediate impression of neglect. Our room itself felt unkempt: we noticed a thick layer of dust under the bed and on the exhaust fan, which we specifically asked staff to clean. Unfortunately, it remained untouched.
Air Conditioning Issues: The air conditioning in our room was non-functional, making for an uncomfortable stay in the hot, humid weather. We reported the issue twice, but it was never addressed. Sleeping in a room with poor air circulation was exhausting and unpleasant, and no alternative solutions or apologies were offered.
Safety Concerns: Safety was another big concern. As we were using the elevator, the wheel of our luggage became stuck on a string from a hotel laundry bag that had been carelessly left inside. The elevator door closed as expected, with our luggage still caught. Luckily, my partner managed to catch her luggage but it is indeed a traumatic experience.
Odors & Hygiene: The second floor, where the laundry bins are stored, smelled strongly of rotten eggs. It was unbearable to pass through, and the smell permeated the air, adding to the overall sense that cleanliness and hygiene are not priorities for this establishment.
The One Upside – Location: The only saving grace was the location. With Asakusa Station a quick walk away, it was convenient for sightseeing and accessing other parts of Tokyo. But with so many other hotels in the area, it’s hard to justify staying here solely for location, given the poor conditions.
Final Verdict: Unfortunately, this hotel missed the mark on so many basic aspects of hospitality. Cleanliness, maintenance, and safety should be standard, yet they were lacking here. We would not recommend this hotel unless serious improvements are made to ensure guests’ comfort and safety. Save yourself the hassle and consider alternative accommodations in...
