Disappointing Stay, Despite a Great Location We recently stayed at this hotel, and while we were initially excited about its convenient location—just a short 3-5 minute walk from Asakusa Station—the overall experience was disappointing, to say the least. Cleanliness & Maintenance: One of the most alarming issues was the cleanliness (or lack thereof). Trash and miscellaneous items were scattered throughout the lobby and in the elevator, creating an immediate impression of neglect. Our room itself felt unkempt: we noticed a thick layer of dust under the bed and on the exhaust fan, which we specifically asked staff to clean. Unfortunately, it remained untouched. Air Conditioning Issues: The air conditioning in our room was non-functional, making for an uncomfortable stay in the hot, humid weather. We reported the issue twice, but it was never addressed. Sleeping in a room with poor air circulation was exhausting and unpleasant, and no alternative solutions or apologies were offered. Safety Concerns: Safety was another big concern. As we were using the elevator, the wheel of our luggage became stuck on a string from a hotel laundry bag that had been carelessly left inside. The elevator door closed as expected, with our luggage still caught. Luckily, my partner managed to catch her luggage but it is indeed a traumatic experience. Odors & Hygiene: The second floor, where the laundry bins are stored, smelled strongly of rotten eggs. It was unbearable to pass through, and the smell permeated the air, adding to the overall sense that cleanliness and hygiene are not priorities for this establishment. The One Upside – Location: The only saving grace was the location. With Asakusa Station a quick walk away, it was convenient for sightseeing and accessing other parts of Tokyo. But with so many other hotels in the area, it’s hard to justify staying here solely for location, given the poor conditions. Final Verdict: Unfortunately, this hotel missed the mark on so many basic aspects of hospitality. Cleanliness, maintenance, and safety should be standard, yet they were lacking here. We would not recommend this hotel unless serious improvements are made to ensure guests’ comfort and safety. Save yourself the hassle and consider alternative accommodations in the same area.

If you’re the kind of traveler who likes options, Hotel Plus Hostel Tokyo Asakusa 2 is a great pick. Whether you’re into minimalist capsule pods, classic dorm-style bunk beds, or want a private room with your own toilet, they have it all.I stayed in the capsule-style cabin, which felt spacious enough with its own curtain, light, and power outlet. But if you prefer more privacy, you can upgrade to a room with en-suite bathroom. This flexibility makes it perfect for solo travelers, couples, or small groups.🚗 Getting There3-minute walk from Asakusa StationAround 50–60 min from Narita or Haneda Airport by train or airport limousine busSuper strategic if you're planning to explore Tokyo from the east side.🛒 What Makes It ConvenientCapsule cabins, shared dorms, and private rooms (some with their own toilet and shower)Gender-separated public bath (onsen-style) – warm, clean, and relaxing after a long walkShared shower & toilet facilities are clean and well-maintainedYou can send/receive Yamato (TA-Q-BIN) parcels from the front desk – super helpful for travelers with big luggage or belanjaan🛏️ Facilities & VibeSpacious capsule layout with good airflow, lockers for valuablesOnsen bath open in the evening – best time to enjoy it is early morning (6–8 AM) or after 10 PM for quieter experienceLounge area with billiards, vending machines, shared kitchen, and laundryCleanliness is top-notch; even shared areas feel fresh🗺️ Nearby AttractionsSenso‑ji Temple & Kaminarimon Gate – just a 5-min walkTokyo Skytree – around 15 min by foot or 1 stop by trainSumida River – great for evening strollsLots of convenience stores, street food, and shopping streets nearby (including Don Quijote & Asakusa Nishi-sando)✨ Final ThoughtsWhether you're a backpacker or a budget-conscious traveler wanting flexibility, this place covers your needs. Location: Located in a strategic location, close and within walking distance to Senso-ji, Asakusa station, affordable restaurants, convenience store, Kimino rental, drugstore, Sumida River, Sumida Park, and many more.

About the Hotel and rooms: Friendly service by the staff and at the reception. In the lobby there is a pool table, vending machine, and a quite comfortable waiting room. The price per room is not too expensive. Providing complete toiletries (such as liquid bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and facial skin care from MOIS, towels can be changed and taken by yourself in the storage on each floor). There is an Onsen on the 2nd floor (separate for men and women). Tap water for drinking, a microwave for heating food, and a kettle for heating drinking water on the 2nd floor are also available. If you want to wash and dry your clothes go to second floor. 400 Yen/30 minutes for washing and 200 Yen/30 minutes for drying. Unfortunately, there is a bad smell at certain times on this floor.

Overall we are satisfied staying at...
