don’t get me wrong, the foods were AMAZING. i rated this store with few stars because of the staffs (both male & female) that were attending us
rude(i do not expect them to be friendly because seems like they’re not japanese; hence they do not bound to catheter to the japanese standard — ??) and unapologetic. because it was our first time, we didn’t know the rules that we are to order at the machine which was located at the opposite end from where we enter, so we went to the staff and he rudely ask for the order receipt (we were confused). then he pointed to the machine, “order first” and walk away
okay. so we do all the deeds, presented our order receipt to a lady at the counter, she just said “seat please” and we went to an empty table
soon after that, the male staff(earlier) ask us to move while saying “no no no” and pointed to the counter/bar table
there were two of us and we were carrying large backpacks. that empty table is perfect for two with spaces under it for our bags. it was an EMPTY TABLE with EMPTY seats for godsake!
mind you, there are not that many customers at that time. so we’re not blocking anybody. we just wanted a place to seat comfortably, however, were treated like that. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!
regardless, it was a hearty meal. we’ll be back for the food but definitely not at this...
Read moreThis is one of the best unagi I have tasted. Naturally there's a Q at peak hours, so be patient. You will be well rewarded. Please be aware that they don't seat incomplete group so make sure everyone is around.
Ordering is easy via the machine they have at the entrance. Press your order and pay either by cash or suica card and you are done.
I literally have nothing bad to say of their unagi. The price is fair. The portions are generous and superbly cooked. The food arrives hot and freshly prepared. The aroma, the flavour, the colour. Unbelievable feast to the eyes, nose and tongue. I would definitely visit this place again when I am in Tokyo.
Other than the main unagi dish, they do have some extras. I find the liver skewer tasty. Their soup was light but yummy. The eel wrapped in egg was interesting. Egg was well cooked and the thin egg layers rolled around the eel was lightly flavoured in order not to overwhelm the eel. Having said that, all of them are merely distractions to their main dish, the unbelievably delicious eel. I can't rave enough how good it is.
But a word of warning, the space is tight. It may get squeezy and uncomfortable but i feel the food most definitely makes up for any minor...
Read moreThe staff at the restaurant were extremely rude—like, seriously. Do you even want to work here? Honestly, if you don’t want to work in customer service, just quit.
I went there today because I saw the good reviews. I don’t know how your system works, but I’ve been to places with way better service than this. I told the staff that there were two of us and asked if we could sit inside. One staff member pointed to something behind me, which I didn’t notice, and said something that wasn’t in English.
So I asked in English, “Can I just sit inside?” to let her know I’m not Japanese. She frowned angrily and yelled something loudly in a language that felt completely alien. I had no idea what she was saying—it definitely wasn’t English—and then she just pointed behind me again. That’s when I noticed there was a machine for ordering.
Her face looked totally annoyed.
The food tasted fine, although the rice was a bit too soggy. But honestly, the experience at the counter ruined it for me. I just wanted to eat quickly and get out.
Dear owner, please take this into serious...
