A Hidden Gem for Lalapan Lovers in Miri Stumbled upon a fantastic spot in Miri that serves one of the best lalapan I’ve had in a while. The tenggiri fish was fried to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside, with just the right touch of dryness. What really elevated the dish was the sambal, especially when paired with sweet black soy sauce—an addictive combo that hits all the right notes.

The lalapan ayam is delicious, but I was disappointed to see that it was undercooked. The vegetables given were fresh so that's a plus point.

The workers at this shop were not attentive when we first got there. And when we wanted to pay for the food, none of them came over to the cashier even though they saw us standing there and they were hanging out in front of the kitchen. I never missed eating at this establishment during each of my business trip to Miri.

My favourite thing about this place is how they’ve managed to create an extraordinary dish from ordinary ingredients.

Take my favourite fried tenggiri (which you’ve flavoured with a squeeze of calamansi, yum!), coupled with spicy sambal with ulam and voila — instant masterpiece.
