Rockafellas Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in George Town

Visited this place for 4 or 5 consecutive days both for lunch and at night for drinks. I bought strangers in the bar drinks and tipped. Tonight, a friend was involved in a motorbike accident 30 metres down the road (actually, the guy on a motorbike, trying to chat her up whilst she was walking home, caused an accident - she had insisted she was ok walking home alone). I told the barman that there had been an accident and that I would be back in 5 minutes and I left my drink, my cigarettes and anything else that was not already in my pockets, at the bar and hurried down the road. 20 seconds after I arrived at the accident, the waitress and my bill for 2 or 3 beers arrived. Despite what was happening, I was forced to settle my bill there and then. I actually thought she had come along to assist us, I was amazed when she gave me a bill instead. Very friendly right up until they might lose a tenner on the £200- - £300.00 I’ve spent there in the last few days. Obviously, after checking on my friend and this time insisting on walking with her on the 2 minute journey home, I went back (as promised) and finished my beer and collected my belongings, never to return. Yesterday, Friday 22 March at 1.45pm my friend and I sat on bar stools at the front of the bar. We noticed the barman sitting at a table at the back of the bar, who was on a private phone call. After 10 minutes I waved out and indicated that we wanted to order drinks. He took his time to walk over and then stood in front of us talking and laughing on the phone instead of providing any service. I banged on the counter and asked him to get off the phone. I asked to see a menu as we wanted some white wine. He continued talking,went to a fridge and took a bottle out and put it in front of us. I again told him to get off the phone and pay attention to what we wanted which was a drinks menu. He found a menu and gave it us, all the while talking on the phone and disappeared to the back of the room again and then ignored us. We were disgusted with this appalling attitude and left. We went to Gravy Baby and were greeted as we entered and given attentative service.

Please do not employ lazy staff who couldn't care less about customer service. This experience is very disappointing as I regularly go to Rockafellas at Straits Quay and the service is professional and friendly.

We stopped here because the music was really good… But the service was anything but. It was very difficult to order drinks as we simply couldn’t get the servers attention… I think at that time there were three servers in one bartender and less than 10 tables. The servers were too busy looking at their phones, Flirting with girls, Or talking amongst themselves rather Then serve customers. Then was a few hours before closing They brought over my bill and a credit card machine to cash out. I asked if they wanted me to leave and was told that Service were going home so they had to do this. I found this to be bothersome and not great customer service.
