Unpleasant Experience at New World Park Food Court (நியூ வேர்ல்ட் பார்க் ஃபுட் கோர்ட்)
I recently visited the New World Park food court (நியூ வேர்ல்ட் பார்க் ஃபுட் கோர்ட்) and unfortunately had a less than satisfactory experience, primarily due to the service at the drink cashier manned by an Old Chinese gentleman.
Upon arriving, I noticed a man in line ahead of me ordering drinks. After he completed his order, I expected to be served next. However, to my surprise, another individual appeared out of nowhere and placed an order, bypassing the queue. Despite my presence, the cashier proceeded to serve this newcomer without acknowledging my turn, leaving me feeling frustrated.
When I questioned the cashier about the situation, he became defensive and insisted that the new customer had placed an order before leaving briefly and returning. This claim seemed dubious at best.
To add to the disappointment, when I received my order of a coconut shake (தேங்காய் குலுக்கல் பானம்) priced at around RM6 for takeaway, I discovered that it did not use coconut meat but instead using coconut milk/Santan (தேங்காய் பால்) . This deviation from expectations was disheartening, especially considering the cost of the beverage.
Moreover, while inspecting the change I received, I noticed one of the notes was torn. When I requested a replacement, the cashier outright refused, asserting that the torn note was still usable. This interaction only heightened the overall unpleasant experience.
In summary, the combination of the cashier's rude behavior, questionable service, and the deviation from the expected quality of the coconut shake left me with a negative impression of my visit to the New World Park food court (நியூ வேர்ல்ட் பார்க் ஃபுட் கோர்ட்). I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for improvement in customer service and overall experience at the establishment.

New World Park Food City is Penang’s answer to the eternal question: “Where can I get all the local favourites without criss-crossing the island?” Designed to gather all the must-try Penang hawker fare under one roof, this food court is as convenient as it is bustling.
Yes, it’s crowded – a sure sign you’re in the right place. But to its credit, finding a seat isn’t as daunting as you’d expect. Tables turn over quickly, and the space is thoughtfully laid out to handle the crowd without making you feel like you’re dining in a sardine tin.
Now, it’s not air-conditioned (purists would say, rightly so), but the place is kitted out with large industrial fans that keep the air moving surprisingly well. You’ll be warm, yes – but not melting.
As for the food – well, it’s a mixed bag. Don’t come expecting the “best ever char kway teow of your life,” but rather a reliable, one-stop sampling of local staples. It’s a bit like the greatest hits album of Penang hawker food – familiar, crowd-pleasing, but perhaps not the most legendary renditions. Still, it’s tasty enough and a great intro spot for visitors or anyone with a hankering for variety without the legwork.
Service is fast and friendly – hawker-style efficiency with a smile. You order, you wait (not long), and food appears, hot and ready.
In summary, New World Park Food City is a solid spot for an easy local food fix. It won’t necessarily blow your mind, but it will certainly fill your belly. And with a breeze in your face and a plate of something fried in front of you, who’s really...

New World park is nothing more than just a gathering place for average hawkers, good ones run solely by themselves to fend of challenges.
Can't blame the hawkers here for the exorbitant prices they charged. Came to learn that each store pays a rental of RM3300/- per month excluding other bills. That's an outrageous amount for rental, I wonder if the Income-tax department knows about this and how are they going to act.
Cleanliness is questionable with lots of crockery found left on the tables unattended. Tables themselves are hardly clean after use. An eye sore you can said it.
Parking is not cheap either though plenty here, once meal time is mostly taken up. Don't risk parking at roadsides, City council is quite active issuing summons.
Can't actually pin point a really good store here, food averages between 7 out of 10. If you're looking for those popularised hawker food here's not the place, your search will be in vain.
Don't worry about sitting availablity there's plenty of seats even during peak hours. One thing for sure, locals hardly come here unless others are closed. This is mainly attributed to taste, varieties and most importantly the price.
If you enjoy the food be sure to drink lots of water and good luck to you for consuming food essence or MSG.
Finally choose wisely and enjoy your food. If you find my review helpful...
