This Eatery is located within a Vintage Old Shophouse that according to them has over 100 years history. The Eatery itself has been around for 12 years. Very Big Place, Air-Conditioned, Cool and Breezy. Staffs are Very Friendly and Welcoming.
Although there weren't much customers on a Friday Afternoon at 11.30am when I was there, it filled up Very Fast. By the Time I finished my meal and left at 12.40, the Restaurant is Quite Crowded although not Full House.
1017 八宝凉茶 Herbal Tea (Hot) = RM5.50
The Taste is like a More Atas and Earthy version of our SG Classic Jia Jia Liang Teh. It has the same Earthy Sweet Profile with a Strong 罗汉果 Monkfruit Taste.
606 自制佛本飘香 Fried Vegetable with Yam Ring = RM26.00
I had initially thought the Yam Ring would be Too Filling but thankfully it was not. Imagine a Atas 酒楼 Standard of Yam Ring.
The Outer Skin has a Delightfully Soft Crispy Biscuity Feel. The Actual Yam is actually Not Too Much and Not Overly Overpowering at all. All the Mixed Vegetables have a very Atas 酒楼 sort of Taste, Very Savoury. Every Ingredient here contributes to its Success. Abit of Broccoli, Cauliflower for the Crunch, Mushrooms for their Savouriness, the Unique Savoury Freshness from Bellpeppers etc.
307 翡翠豆腐 Jade Spinach Tofu = RM15.00
When this was served up, the 1st thing that came to my mind was a Beautiful Japanese Zen Garden. The Pureed Spinach although looks Very Deeply Green, does not have any Strong Green Veggies Taste. In fact it tastes more like a Saltish Oyster Sauce with a Sheen of Sesame Oil. This tastes pretty good and I reckon would also be very Savoury to 下饭 with.
The Top of the Tofu is a Generous Slathering of Taucheo Chye Poh Mixture that is Noticeably Salty but not Overly So. Not Spicy at all. Its then Topped off with a Garland of Parsley with a Generous Spread of Goji Berries for Colour.
Eating Everything together gives it a Soft Creamy Savoury Taste. Personally, I feel the Soul of this Dish is that Chye Poh Taucheo Mixture and that Green Spinach Puree. These 2 worked Most Excellently together and did Most of the Heavy Lifting for this Dish.
101 苋菜汤 Amaranth Soup = RM13.00
I liked this. Presentation-Wise I liked the Fresh Green Look and indeed it was Light and had a Nice Savoury Slightly Saltish Sweetness. It doesn't taste like they added alot of MSG to this Soup, the Delicate Sweetness felt like it came more from the Boiled Vegetables.
Amaranth were Plentiful and Soft, and was Delightful to eat with a Nice Veggie Chew. I liked the Little Strands of Enoki that both helped enhance the look and adds yet another Layer of Savouriness. Goji Berries again helped added Colour and Taste. This was Well Made and the Portion I feel is enough for about 2 People nicely.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM59.50 (S$18.00) without any Service Charge, I can Definitely Recommend this to try.
Everything was made at a High Level and I felt I'm eating a 酒楼 level of Vegetarian actually. Not only Vegetarians, but I feel even Non-Vegetarians will actually like this too because they have a More Conventional Taste that doesn't have that "Too Overly Vegetarian" Taste.
The Customer Service was a Major Highlight of this Place. Everyone was Very Friendly, Welcoming and Accomodating and I really do enjoy my time here. In fact I'm so Impressed with the Dishes here, I went to their Kitchen to personally Compliment their Head Chef. He appreciated the Gesture.
With such Good Quality Food and Excellent Service, this Eatery Easily gets my Highest Recommendation! 2 Thumbs Up!

Read moreDO NOT COME HERE!!! I would absolutely give a -5 if I could. First of all, the waiting time is insane!! We waited around 1 and a half hours to get 1 dish, and the other dishes come every ten minutes after. They did not inform us about the waiting time and only tell us some dishes are out of stock and ask us to pick other dishes after waiting for 1 hour+. Next is the absolutely terrible service, the waitress who takes orders was so rude and impolite. When I asked about our orders, she sounded so angry and doesnt even look at me, only said "wait for a while". The foods here tasted not bad to be honest. But price is too high considering the extremely small portion of every dish. It's so little I think it's not even enough for kids. Overall, it is not recommended for any sane human being who is looking for food. The worst place for any vegetarian to consider. Don't be fooled by the positive comments and high rating. It definitely does not deserve...
Read moreVery small restaurant serving good vegetarian food. Friendly servers but the air conditioning is a disaster. Many years never service the aircond, the air blowing is warm & stuffy. Kitchen ventilation is very bad and connected to the dining area. The owner should improve on this area to make dining a pleasant experience. After all the business is extremely good, so no reason to improve on the air quality inside the restaurant. For those who wanted to take away, be warned that they will over charging you the cheap plastic container. That plastic food container is given free by the whole Penang hawker food stalls that sell RM3.5 - RM5 fried rice but this restaurant will charge you the cheap plastic container with their RM8.50 vegetarian fried rice. If they want to charge, they should have given the customer with a microwave ready...
