We organised a transfer through the hotel to get from the airport to the Riad, we met our driver at the airport arrivals who drove us to the main market square where we met a man with a trolley who took our luggage and guided us through the market & souks to get to our Riad. I can’t recommend this enough. The front door is unbranded so you wouldn’t know it was here, which gives a great sense of privacy. We were then greeted by our hosts, the warmest welcome. We were guided to seats by the pool with a basket of fresh fruit, tea, homemade (and delicious) biscuits and water. It was much needed! We were then shown to our room overlooking the courtyard at the front of the riad. Beautifully decorated, huge bed and an amazing large wardrobe. ||Breakfast was excellent, they check each evening what time you’d like it the next day and you go to the room where there is a place set out for your party. Fresh orange juice, yoghurt, pastry, honey, jam, marmalade, butter, other spreads and bread. Then they bring out hot dishes, tea and coffee. We missed the tagine morning as we had an early excursion which I’m still gutted about as the food was always great. ||The staff are super friendly, they will do anything they can to help you. They will escort you if you want (we never felt the need to but they did offer). We would come in from a day sight seeing and they would bring us tea and biscuits, we used the terrace for late afternoon naps. It was wonderful. You feel like you’re the only guests there as they are so attentive, but not overbearing. ||I can’t recommend this riad enough, if we are lucky enough to visit Marrakech again we will definitely be...
Read moreWe are wrapping up our stay at the wonderful Riad K in Marrakesh. This boutique Riad is located a few steps away from the spice market and a short 10-15 minute walk from jama el fnaa. I would whole heartedly recommend this Riad to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful oasis in the hustler and bustle of the city. Our hosts, Hassan and Rachid have been extremely helpful - even with a language barrier (we do not speak Italian, Arabic or French particularly well) they were always able to help us and guide us anytime we needed. The pool area is beautiful and was a great place to escape the scorching heat of the Marrakesh afternoons. The homemade breakfast provided lovingly each morning was delicious! Our room was stunningly furnished in Italian designs and was very spacious for our family of 5. Honestly though, the whole Riad felt like home as my kids felt safe exploring the property and lounging by the pool or sitting in the terrace. Definitely consider this Riad when you are planning your stay in this amazing city! A couple of things to note - it is on a quiet alley - seems very safe, we saw young children playing football/soccer out front even late - but you will likely be alone if you are walking back to the Riad at night. However, Hassan was always more than happy to escort if needed. The other thing we noticed was that the floors- which were stunning - could get slippery if wearing socks— use the free slippers they provide- very helpful. Overall- we loved it and are so happy we stayed here! Thank you again yo Rachid and Hassan for a...
