Hotel New Era — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

It's a nice property, cute rooms and well maintained building as it's new building as per the look.

Pros - Good room, cozy and friendly staff... Helped us with late out check out as well. There breakfast is very filling and nice... Thank you for everything.

Cons - Don't use their Tours and Travel. It's a No No. We booked a flight from them with commission.. It's alright! We are oK with it.

We requested for a bus ticket as well as we were travelling to Pokhara the next day. They confirmed us a good front seat and a VIP Deluxe bus. We were excited even after over paying for the bus. We had a trust with their agency.

We landed up with the last seat and even after requesting them for front seats.. They gave seats to other walk in guest to the bus but refused to move us front. After overpaying still we had to suffer.

Their property and owner is very nice along with the staff but their Tour and Travel agency is bad... I would never book again if I get a chance. Bad customer service for the...

I was traveling with a small group. Two of the six of us were not happy with their Hotel New Era rooms (beds too firm and rooms not clean). I, however, was quite pleased. The bed was on the firm side, but not uncomfortable. My room was quite clean. And, I was very happy the bathroom included towel racks! The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The owner arranged a trip to Nargakot for me at a much better price than local tour operators. And, he and his daughter were excellent guides! There was a lot of noise (within the hotel) the first night. I think a group of friends were there and the opening & closing of doors and talking in the halls and stairwell echo quite a bit. A new hotel in a central location in Thamel. Rooms are compact but modern and very clean. The staff are very helpful and accommodating - I was relocating from abroad and traveling with pets and they were more than happy for my pets to stay with me in the room. They extended my stay at short notice, and permitted late check out, and were very helpful and friendly with every request. They have a restaurant/bar on the top floor and a roof terrace with great views where you can sit/eat if the weather is nice.
