Mantang-Hong Restaurant — Restaurant in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

The food is absolutely beautiful it is like an art.I visited the restaurant with my colleagues and I really liked the isolated compartment they have since my friends are outgoing and really socially loud people. I don’t like tofu at all but the tofu dish they served was really appealing to my eyes so I tried it, the flavor it gave my mouth questioned if tofu was always this good. Since I don’t normally have Chinese food, it was an eye opening experience for me. The hotpot they served was absolutely delicious we devoured the dishes served. The only criticism I have was when we wanted something and one of us had to leave the table but I guess it was a exchange for the isolated room so I understand it. The green tea served was a good way to cleanse the palate even if it was served at the end...

Food was swimming in oil, my dish was ok-ish, my partner's dishes were neither very tasty nor interesting. The "tea" was the worst so-called tea I ever had - my partner joked it might as well have been rinsing water.

Tea cup was dirty, the plastic tablecloth was grey from smoking, guest room was very uncomfortable. On the other side of the building seemed to be another guest room, waiter said it is the same restaurant with the same kitchen. Felt kind of strange, should have probably gone there. Service was very inattentive, after ordering they just walked apatheticly past us. Almost no English, communication was difficult.

Ate the next day very good Chinese food with excellent service for similar price in the same neighbourhood. You might want to look...

Authentic Chinese restaurant with a very decent menu of food. Selection is primarily spicy Sichuan style but you get some non spicy dishes as well. The taste and presentation is locally China style so if you are looking for refined taste this is not the place. Strong use of salt so drink plenty of water after. Portion is huge too as expected. Service is hardly fanciful since it serves only the purpose it is meant for. Cleanliness is fine and almost decent if you compared those in the mountains.
