How can a place so awful be a part of such a beautiful city? As soon as we pulled up outside and looked at the dirty, holey curtains hanging like rags behind the stinking glass of the rotting windows we should have turned and run. The receptionist was very slow and she was making private mobile phone calls to verify with owner the price given by email on my reservation. They don’t have a computer system for reservations. She asked me to país the full amount in cash, if we wanted to use our credit card she said we have to pay 15% more. We pay cash and she didn’t want to give a receipt, after complaining and she has to call owner by “cell” they wrote a note with the amount paid.||The room was tiny and stank, as did the rest of the building. It was a combination of cats, mould, rot, damp, the local petting farm and a pair of Zoo Keepers’ wellies. The bathroom smells like sewer and no hot water. We didn’t take a shower and Cusco is cold.||Our bed was horrible! Like a rock and nasty, the sheets were old and had holes. We couldn’t sleep so we had to take Tylenol PM. No heater, room was freezing, windows are old so the cold air goes inside of the room all the time. Their dog was barking all night long....||We went out early and stayed out as late as we could manage. Next morning we were up and out, didn’t have breakfast as we saw the state of the kitchen, dirty and nasty. We packed and leave, we asked for our money back at 11:00 a.m. and it took many “cell private calls” with the owner and they decided to refund 2 nights out of 4 nights, I complained to the receptionist that the service and the hotel is horrible, and we only stayed 1 night, I said it’s illegal for the hotel to charge 2 nights when you only stay 1 night, she said the owner wants to refunded us 2 nights. We left and we will never come back to that hotel. Stay away and run if you can from the...

Read moreIt was hard getting to the room we booked, like the pictures advertised. We had visited the hotel in Cusco about a week before the check-in, we were showed a bedroom with big windows and spacious bathroom and decided to make the reservation but, upon arrival we were taken to a terrible bedroom, no windows, a bad mouldy smell and very small bathroom (shower on top of the toilet, no windows, etc). After MUCH arguing (we had to walk down stairs to the reception 3 times, and the first 2 times the receptionist told us there was no other rooms available - LIE), we were then upgraded to a room in the top floor, very bright and spacious, extra beds etc (unfortunately the shower only had boiling water, we had to shower with the help of a cup..). The morning after, very early we were woken up to be told that we were going to be transferred to the original room we were shown when we visited the hotel, which is similar to the pictures shown on the web. All in all, it was a tiresome experience, which eclipsed the fact that the hotel is ok (comfy beds, good breakfast, good location, close to Plaza de Armas), and reflects our overall experience with peruvians which, is, unfortunatelly - that if they can full you,...
