Rucula delivered a perfect finale to our time in Cusco—five shining stars from start to finish. We came here on the recommendation of Benito from Organika, who made our experience at that sister restaurant so memorable that we trusted his suggestion completely. He told us Rucula was a special spot, and he was absolutely right.

We started with the papa rellenas, which were incredibly fresh—crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. For mains, we shared the alpaca burger and the slow-cooked roast. The burger was juicy and flavorful, stacked high with fresh produce and perfectly cooked bacon, served with rustic fries. The roast was the star of the night: fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a vibrant green herb sauce and paired with gnocchi, peas, edible flowers, and crisp vegetable chips. Every element felt thoughtful and beautifully balanced.

Rucula is part of the Organika restaurant group, known for their commitment to sustainability and freshness. They grow their own produce and herbs on a farm in the Sacred Valley and bring it to Cusco daily—something you can absolutely taste in every dish. The group has grown over the years but still feels deeply rooted in their farm-to-table philosophy.

Service at Rucula was kind, attentive, and unhurried. The staff clearly take pride in the food and the experience they’re creating. Combined with a cozy, modern space and a relaxed atmosphere, it felt like the kind of place you want to return to again and again.

If you’re looking for one final meal in Cusco that feels like a celebration of the region’s flavors, people, and care for ingredients, Rucula is the place. Thanks again to Benito from Organika for steering us here—it was the perfect way to...

I'm giving 3 stars because we had a mixed experience (I probably would give 4 if we hadn't had such high expectations given the great reviews). We booked this meal easily a month in advance as we're foodies and wanted to try some of Peru's best cuisine while travelling. In the beginning things were great, the mojitos we ordered were possibly the best we've ever had. We shared the goats cheese salad which was not only delicious but presented beautifully. For mains I ordered the alpaca steak, which was also very tasty and came with some interesting sides, and my boyfriend ordered the slow cooked pork. You could tell straight away that the pork was overcooked and bonedry (it looked as though it had been made much earlier in the day and had been kept under a heat lamp) not only that but all the sides it came with (corn, mix of potatoes, etc) were really cold. We mentioned this to the waiter who then disappeared with the dish for about 10 minutes, by which point I'd finished my main because otherwise it would have gone cold too. When the pork came back it had clearly just been whacked in the oven at full blast so the sides were hot (thankfully) but the pork was even drier than before. In the end my boyfriend decided not to finish his dish as he really wasn't enjoying it, but we were still excited to try dessert which we hoped would make up for the main. However when we asked our waiter for the menu, he told us that the kitchen was already closed. We would have appreciated being warned in advance and it definitely added to the disappointment...

First of all. The picture you see with the lime green walls is an old picture before their renovation and should be removed from this page.

We went here first for drinks but were so pleasantly surprised by the little Amuse bouche of their ceviche that we received that we decided to stay for dinner.

It is a bit more pricey than what you’ll see on the pictures of the menu here on google. They renovated the place and upped the prices.

In either case the food was spectacular. I had the seafood rice which was amazing even though I’m not a fan of rice in particular. It was packed with flavor. Like a mix between paella and risotto. My husband had the alpaca burger although listed as “buger” 😁on the menu. (Can’t get everything right ;) ). It was also great although he’d had preferred to get French fries instead of chips. Wine and beer a bit pricey but good. We were very pleased to eat here. Service was excellent too. Our servers name was Antony I think :) our meal with 2 happy hour drinks, 2 wine 2 beer and 2 mains ran...

Rucula is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The service was impeccable with the staff checking on you, replacing silverware, and very friendly. We tried the traditional alpaca anticucho appetizer and it was great. It was our first time trying alpaca and it was extremely tender. The salad that came with had a nice, light vinaigrette. My husband had the seafood rice which reminded us of paella. The shrimp and squish were cooked well and the fish had a great, robust flavor. Definitely something to try! I had the trout in pesto gnocchi which I would recommend as well. The gnocchi almost melted in your mouth. It was a creamy pesto and was not too overbearing. For drinks we tried El Capitan (which is similar to a manhattan but with pisco), pisco sour, and a chilano (similar to a Moscow mule but with pisco). The drinks were refreshing - the pisco sour and chilano were the favorites though! HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for something in the heart of Cusco, high quality food and drinks, and amazing service!
