Pension Sanblena also known as Hospedaje Kuntur Wasi is a family owned & operated B&B in the heart of the famous and beautiful neighborhood of San Blas. Perfectly located near various quaint restaurants and only 10 minutes walk to the main square.||We stayed here 1 night before going to Machu Picchu and 2 nights after. Our first room was great! It was like an efficiency apartment with a nice size kitchen. Our second room was better! Although no kitchen this time but we had a panoramic view of the old city from our huge window! We loved it! Both rooms were large and spacious, very clean, beds very comfortable, bathrooms spotless and well maintained, strong showers with plenty of hot water. Portable heaters are in the rooms if needed.||Breakfast was good - fresh cut fruits, fresh juice, make your own paninis (ham & cheese), breads, yogurt & cereal, made to order eggs, tea & wonderful fresh brewed coffee from an espresso machine that Fernando, the owner/manager made for us. There’s a patio heater in the breakfast room to take the edge off those cold Cusco mornings.||This is a well run B&B by caring staff especially Fernando who is a wealth of knowledge, always ready with suggestions and/or helpful advice. Both he and his mom are very sweet, welcoming and truly cares for their guests.||We highly recommend this place & would definitely stay here again! ||Muchas Gracias Fernando &...
Read moreI have stayed in Cusco many times for longer periods of time and always found the quality if 3star hotels a little bit low regarding international standards. This year, though, I was very positively surprised by Pension Sanbleña located high up in the famous San Blas district. It has a terrace with an amazing view of the city.|The bed comes with a proper duvet (not common in Cusco) and has a very good matrace. An electric heater is available in the room. The bathroom is small but offers all you need including touletries. The best about it is its superhot high pressure shower — a rarity in Cusco!|The overall interior design is modern and tasteful. I found the family who owns the place and receptionist Cindy very kind and helpful. All of them speak English. They help organise transport to/from the airport.|The only thing that needs maybe a little bit of improvement is the breakfast: you have a choice of 2 pancakes out of four (2 sweet, 2 savoury options). A juice and one coffee are included as are a free flow of tea, bread, jam & butter. The pancakes get really boring if you stay for more than 2 nights (I stayed for 17). I overheard other guests also asking for eggs or fruit. And from other hotels I am used to buffets and as much coffee...
Read moreI stayed here for over a week, it became like a home. Upon arrival, the young lad at reception was all smiles and willing to please, he carried my biggest bag up the stairs for me. The room was adequate for my needs, plenty of self space to empty my bag and lay out my clothes, exquisite view over the city, ensuite and the provided a heater too (which I didn’t use, cold outside but inside still felt warm). Housekeeping were very efficient, I felt like walking into a new room everyday.||All staff and management that I saw around the hotel were always so welcoming and happy for a chat or give some ideas on what to do or where to eat in town. ||The balcony on the top floor is fantastic to sit back, look over the city and watch the sun disappear behind the mountains.||The most important part of the property (in which I am ultimately thankful for) is how safe I felt from when I entered the front door, especially in a foreign town where I don’t know...
