Pros: this hostel is nicely decorated and the stuff is nice and friendly. It has good atmosphere and is located in a nice neighborhood. Cons: It should be noted in the description that the property is not directly accessible by car or taxi. We had to carry our luggage for several flights of stairs up. It can be a huge deal for somebody who has limited physical abilities, senior people etc. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very cold. The hostel does provide heating service which we didnt use for an extra cost, however I feel like having a room with a temperature higher than outside on the street is a basic amenity which should be provided by any accomodation. You also have to walk outside to get to the bathroom/kitchen area which again is cold. Hot water tank in main bathroom is only 20 liters. Hot water doesnt mix with cold. So when you take a shower, you get about 5 min of almost boiling hot water after thant it's cold. I have a long hair and could not wash it properly due to this. Overall this property has a good potential and it seems like owners take pride in it which can be seen on decoration, however it could be so much better if the issues with room temperature, cold bathrooms and hot water would...
Read moreI've been staying at the Native Soul Guesthouse for a week and absolutely love it! It's tucked away in the beautiful San Blas neighborhood offering wonderful views, peace and quiet, while still within walking distance to the center of town/Plaza de Armas.
The Guesthouse itself is a spacious home with various guest rooms and common areas. The Kitchen has everything you need - a gas stove, fridge and freezer, a microwave, running water, and all the necessities to prepare a meal. The livingroom is cozy with a comfy couch and a dining table. There are also yoga mats available to use. On the patio there are 2 hammocks you can use to soak up the sun. The bathroom that is closest to my room is fairly private as it is shared with only one other room. Oh, and there is a house cat - she is super sweet!
The team that manages the property is very helpful and quick to respond. I've had only positive interactions and would absolutely come stay here again on any future...
Read moreI've rented many Airbnbs over the years, but this was by far the worst experience. Before booking, I confirmed with the host that the apartment had hot water and internet, but when I arrived, neither was available. After 2 days, the Mary agreed to move me to a smaller shared apartment, which was a major inconvenience - to Native South Guesthouse. I asked for compensation for the worse apartment, and Mary initially offered a $5 airport ride, which was shocking. She promised to consult with her manager Juan about further compensation, but then stopped responding to my messages and calls altogether. This is extremely unprofessional behavior that no business should engage in.
I strongly discourage anyone from renting from this agency, as they will ignore you if any problems arise that they don't want to resolve. A huge disappointment overall, Mary's and Juan's behavior...
