El Truco Luxury Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Distrito de Cusco

I hope that maybe el truco just had an off three days because everything about it was disappointing. When I arrived the mirror was obviously not cleaned, there was no liquid soap to was my hands, and the shower was obviously not cleaned well because someone’s razor was left in it! When I went to take a shower that night the shower pressure wavered until it was just a drip! After I came back from dinner I went to wash my hands and when I turned the faucet on nothing happened!!! There was no water at all! And unfortunately this was not the only time during my stay this happened!! It seems like all hotels in Peru are loud on the inside so this was standard. Bring earplugs especially if you are staying somewhere on the weekend. The hotel I stayed before always gave me a fresh towel where as El Truco I used the same towel the entire time. Not a huge deal but still annoying when you’re paying a premium. The second day I came back and found the tag ripped off a blanket I had bought in Cusco. I thought that was strange they had obviously messed with my stuff but not a huge deal. The last night the same thing with the water. So about half and half if the water would even work. Thankfully this time it was early enough I told the staff and they tried to fixed it right away. They “fixed” enough that there was water pressure at the beginning of my shower but again just drips at the end until it just quit completely. I asked the front desk when breakfast started as well if they could set up a taxi for me at the airport. They told me as well as the sign said breakfast started at 6:30 am and the taxi will be ready at 7 am. The next morning I show up at the front desk and ask if I can leave my bag there to eat breakfast. They tell me breakfast doesn’t really open until 7 am!!! Then why tell people it opens at 6:30! Thankfully they were nice enough to give me a grab and go bag with a sandwich and fruit as well as coffee. The guy the night before wrote down I needed a taxi to the airport at 7 am. When I show up at 6:30 they are surprised I need a taxi! Thankfully there was 30 minutes for the taxi driver to show up since I couldn’t eat breakfast! Also the room itself was in MUCH worse shape than the pictures. There were panels falling off the walls as well at outlets. I wouldn’t care normally but I paid over twice for this hotel than I did the last and it was in worse condition! If I’m paying a premium I expect the room to be nice! The two things El Truco had over my last hotel is that there was a hairdryer in every room as well as I had a heater. Do yourself a favor save your money and stay at Hotel Santa Maria which is less than half the price and a much...

WORST HOTEL EVER I wish there were zero stars, they deserve none. We stayed there through Booking (25-28 of August 2022) and returning back from Rainbow mountain i found that there were black hairs on my hairbrush. I have short blond hair. They instantly realized who did it but took no action to refund us even though we tried to contact them NUMEROUS times. Do NOT visit this hotel it is disgusting just thinking about it. Stayed here for a week. One of my favorite hotels in Cusco. Try to get a room on the second floor because the ground floor can be noisy. Staff are incredible, I literally am in love with all of them. There's a well-known restaurant in the hotel which is a little pricey but the chef is someone famous so might be worth checking out. Free breakfast is good & all day tea available.
