This was our first time at a hostel and it was just fine. Walking distance to restaurants on the main road in Panglao and 10 minutes to the beach. My husband wasn't sure about it at first because I booked so many nice hotels but I wanted to try something a little more traditional, "Filipino style". We got a private bamboo hut for 2 nights that had everything you need (bed, bathroom with shower, tv which we never used). Small area to chill, have a beer and chat with other travelers. The owners, Andy (a fellow Canadian 😃🇨🇦) and his lovely Filipina wife, Vicky made us feel very welcome, were very helpful and just great to chat with. THE BAD
There was no toilet seat in our bathroom
There was 1 light bulb that didn’t provide any light, couldn’t see anything while trying to look through my bag
No soap in any bathroom, very gross.
The shower water tasted like salt water... have no idea why..have never experienced that in any other hostel in the Philippines.
There is a chicken farm right next door, so there roosters screaming very loud at all hours of the night.
Scooter prices and beer prices were higher than they should be.
Located in a back alley with construction going on.. but only 10 minute walk into town.
Had a water dispenser but you had to pay for every refill.
Had to pay to rent a towel.
OVERALL- cheap place to stay but...
