Alona Northland Resort — Hotel in Panglao

Not the right value for that price. Quite poor variety of food for breakfast: either salad or rice, chicken/fish/sausage, and options of eggs. Every single day. And FYI, they call breakfast complimentary. Which is strange, as it's around 70 USD per 1 night. And this poor variety made us have dinner in other places rather than in the hotel. And ah, I forgot to mention, they have special signs everywhere, that food and drinks from outside are not allowed😁 and that in case they find out you had smth, you'll get the penalty.

Cleaning in the room happens ONLY when you put the special plate on your door with the ask to clean the room. If you don't put it (forget), no one will clean your room, take out the trash, or change your towels. And there are ants in the room- always.

There is a deposit of 1000 php upon your arrival in cash.

They have free transfer from and to airport. About which they didn't inform in advance. I got to know it only during check in at the reception.

No flexibility of stuff . At our last day, we came to the reception with the ask to boil us some eggs for the morning instead of breakfast, as we were leaving before the breakfast starts. We were refused. With the argument that this is "complimentary " breakfast (though I paid 70 usd per night, including breakfast and stayed there for 5 nights). I'm traveling a lot, and this the first time in my life there is a hotel, which refuses to prepare take away breakfast for early leave (even not breakfast, just boiled eggs!) This is a ridiculous situation, which doesn't require too much effort from the hotel. Some boiled eggs instead of providing breakfast in the morning (which is a saving for them)

So, don't expect a lot...

This is a great hotel! ||The staff are super helpful and friendly and cannot do enough for you. The trips they have on offer are also good value!||||Hotel is nice and quiet with a relaxing pool area. Bar Prices are good and the pool area has a really nice atmosphere and very pretty surroundings.||||Beach is a 10- 15 min walk realistically but don't let this put you off||||Only complaints would be that the breakfast is very limited! No buffet, No fruit just 5 set breakfasts to chose from, most of which are very similar and all based around eggs. I think this lets the hotel down compared to others of the same standard and what is available nowadays. The food is good but a big lack of selection. Also the rooms could do with cleaning more often (particularly sweeping more often).||||Regardless of this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend people to stay here (maybe without breakfast). People who complain there is no left need to get real- Its 2 flights of stairs to the top!!||||Oh yes and Coco the dog is the boss!!! We'd love to...
