The Place- The place is quiet. No Karaoke. If there is from the neighbor you wont hear it from my room ( room #5). The place is also accessible and has a shortcut going to the sea.

The Owner/s- this is a Family owned property that is very hospitable and friendly. No bad vibes, accommodating and they make sure you are getting the service you need. But if you are a Karen or Ken then this place is not for you. This Family is good that they do not deserve to be treated bad.

The Staff- All of them are friendly. I had a long day traveling and when we arrived here we were greeted with smiles. Like I said if you will be on Karen and Ken mode pls don't because like us, they work hard and nobody's perfect, they are doing their best. Like them, smile as well and if there are problems then just be polite and tell them nicely and rest assured that will be sorted out.

The Food- It is amazing. Big serving and delicious. I love the smoke pork tendon and more in their deli. I love their Älplermagronen! And other food too is good! That is why I keep coming back here whenever I get the chance.

The Rooms- clean,BIG, well provided with what you need. Wifi is not that perfect which is understandable because they do not control the provider but they provide back up connection for work from home like me. Also the room is comfy and the AC is nice and cold. Cable is working fine.

The room rate- for me I think it is fair considering they are accessible to Alona. And also a place where theres pool, bar, restaurant, deli shop and swimming pool. It is fair.

Will I come back,...

Worm in the food !

The one star rate is not even for the worm itself because we can understand (as a customer) most of the issues. The problem is how the case was managed. You cannot come after time (meaning you got time to think and reach anyone to take a decision for the move) and offer a bruschetta (really ? probably your cheapest one in the menu and we was already eating our main dishes but you bring appetizers) to forget what happened. Its not balanced at all when you ruined a dinner making that we need to force kids to eat because they are suspicious about their food now, we dont eat at the same time all together…long story short we are not enjoying the time of our dinner anymore.

Beside that you have also real issues too on some points of your service (and we came 2 times and got the same kind of things the 2 times). One example : When we order drinks and ask also for water, why are you bringing only 2 glasses of water for 5 ? Then when we ask you to bring for others (kids !), why will you bring only one glass more ? Do we have to beg for water for each one continuously ?

Dont get me wrong, the quality/price ratio and menu’s choices at this restaurant is better than average but you have a skill to ruin all of that from some « details ». And the people working there are even nice, its not my point, but i highlight a big lack of formation from these examples.

Result : you lost returning customers and got bad review

Need to separate: Hotel, restaurant and deli. Start with the restaurant: I think this is THE place for foreigners to meet... even the founder is already gone. The food is very good, you can visit it for a meal AND for meet expats. Staff is really nice and friendly and trained with foreigners. Deli: Maybe it was more famous before. Still a lot of German/Swiss products, maybe a source for your needs. But a lot of stable/non perishable goods, less fresh foods. Still a source for your needs e.g. if you like to have sunceram without whitener or some fresh cold cuts or german "Gurken". Hotel: Hmmm... maybe better not. Never take the room beside of the restaurant to the pool. You have the sound of the restaurant only separated by a sheet of wallpaper (sounds like) , and two water pump (pool and something else) on the other wall. You find a gas stove... but no gas bottle to run. You find a price list for a mini bar... but the ref is empty. You can see the new owner (son of the founder?) is replacing everything broken by the cheapest solution... or not replace. You can feel, it was a nice swiz enclave in the philippines, but it becomes cheap and philippino style now. We will not use the hotel again. But to be honest: The Price is OK, you have a good meeting place in the front, and a nice pool in the back. It isn't that bad... we only expect more from a...
