«+» Nice and remodeled apart-hotel. My Deluxe Double Room with Balcony was big enough for 2 people and ideally clean. All the furniture was in very good condition. Even though the room was on the second floor and facing a busy river promenade with many restaurants right around the hotel, it was pretty quiet inside as soon as the windows were closed. I had some pretty city views from my apartment. Having a cute little balcony was a plus. I liked my room’s design a lot; it felt cozy and gave me Scandinavian vibes, which I personally like a lot. The bed was very comfortable. Having a mini-refrigerator in the room was a big plus. Also, the room had a big powerful speaker to connect your devices to and listen to music. The bathroom was small, but I liked the fact that the sink area was part of the room’s hall before going to the bedroom. The bathroom was designed very nicely. The shower stall was big and took up almost half of the bathroom’s size. Wi-Fi was working pretty fast during my entire stay. I paid $117 per night for my room, and I find this deal pretty reasonable for the very good quality I got. I absolutely recommend this apartment-hotel for a stay in Ljubljana. «-» No way to get right to the hotel building if you use a taxi because there is only a pedestrian area around. The taxi drops you at the beginning or at the end of the promenade (one or the other side), and you have to walk for about 3 minutes to get to the hotel. The front desk staff was not always at their working place, but there was an emergency phone number in case you needed to connect with somebody. There is no elevator in the hotel’s building, so I had to carry my big heavy luggage up the stairs, luckily only one floor up. Not enough water pressure in the sink. Plus, the actual sink was too tiny, and water splashed all around. Cheap bathroom amenities with an...
Read moreLocated right smack in the old town in a strip beside the river that turns lively in the evening with its bars and restos where locals and tourists hang out for a drink or two. An unassuming structure that you may miss if we hadn't googled it before booking. Since no vehicles are allowed entry in the area, you'll have to walk around 5 mins from the nearest drop-off point (typically along Levstikov trg beside Mercator mart). The room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed and large enough bathroom. We got one facing the river and Cobbler's Bridge on the other. There's a small lobby area where one can wait and just chill out. Kudos to the staff (shout out to Tarek) who were so helpful and went the extra mile to attend to our needs.
Kollman shares the same building with AdHoc hostel (same entrance but different part of the building), whose occupants were on the younger side. There's also a small kitchen in the hostel part that you can use as well.
I recommend this hotel if you want something simple, quiet, unassuming but...
Read moreWe just checked in and it was the warmest welcome of all stays we had done this trip. After booking we received an email with detailed instruction how to reach the building as it is located in a traffic free zone. It was so easy to find and just 3 min walk while getting the first great impressions of the old town of Ljubljana. Michael welcomed us with real warm words and open heart. He explained interesting topics about our stay and everything easy to understand. Thank you so much.
After we got into our room and it was just wow. The room is big with extra entrance area, modern style with classy feeling and really well-wrought. And the view out is lovely.
I really...
