We chose the hotel having stayed in a Eurostars property in Florence in September and being impressed, and we were pleased that the Madrid Gran Via hotel proved to have the same high standards. We booked a superior room with terrace and these should really be described as a suite as there was a very nice separate living area. Very nicely decorated and furnished with huge and comfortable bed, and completely quiet at all times. The terrace was very large with a sofa set, dining table and 4 chairs, and two large and very comfortable looking sunbeds - unfortunately in November the weather wasn't warm enough to try them out! A kettle with supplies of coffee, tea and milk was provided in the room, and a minibar in which drinks could be stored, and bathrobes and slippers were also provided, with plenty of good quality toiletries in the bathroom. The room and all the public areas of the hotel were exquisitely clean and there is a lovely, subtle scent in the public areas. The wifi worked well. || Covid precautions were very good with 3 separate sittings for breakfast to keep numbers down in the dining room and each guest given their own set of disposable tongs to use for the breakfast buffet. Staff at reception and in the dining room were pleasant and efficient. The location of the hotel was very convenient, just off the Gran Via and with a number of Metro stations nearby.||||Although the breakfast buffet was quite good (plenty of fresh fruit and the selection varied daily, and the croissants and other baked goods were very good and fresh) there were a couple of negative points. The hot dishes were not so good. Exactly the same choices every day. Scrambled eggs (solid and rubbery), bacon (undercooked and very greasy on 2 days out of 3 although crispy and good on day 2) and small chipolata sausages which I did not try as they did not look nice. It would be better if guests could request eggs cooked to order (as is quite usual in other 4 star hotels so that fried eggs or omelettes could be available as alternatives. They are quick to cook and it should not be too difficult with numbers kept down by the 3-sitting system. Instead of the chipolatas I think it would be better to offer grilled tomatoes or mushrooms (maybe on alternate days to provide more variety) as these could be eaten by vegetarian/vegan guests as well as the carnivores! There was no brown or wholemeal sliced bread available for toast on day 2 or 3 - my husband mentioned it to the staff on day 2 but there was still none the following morning.||||A few evergreen plants would have been nice to have on the terrace (miniature orange or lemon trees would be ideal which don't require much maintenance) - but there was only one completely dead plant and one empty plant pot.||||The pillar in the middle of the seating area of the suite was a bit of a nuisance and spoiled the look of the room, but the hotel cannot help this as it is a structural support, common to...
Read moreThis is probably the cleanest hotel I've stayed in. When I say clean, I mean very clean. The interior designs are very modern and futuristic at the same time. The front desk ladies are very lovely, attentive, and helpful. They helped me a lot with tourist info and making sure everything I needed was made available. The location is great, right off of Gran Via (without the noise of Gran Via) with most things within walking distance and bus and train stations close by too. A few things to note to help you be more informed: Early check-in will cost you additional £200. I don't think I saw this when I booked, but I booked via a third-party site, so they must have removed that very crucial information. If you're like me, and assuming you're not super tired after your flight, just go walk around and kill time, Plaza de España and the Royal Palace are very close by, and they'll also secure your bag at the front desk so you don't have to worry about your luggage safety. There's a likelihood you may buy a universal adapter. The hotel does have one that they give to their guests. For me, my cell phone charger fit but not my laptop charger. The front desk ladies helped a lot to find one that'll fit my laptop, and when they couldn't find one, one of them graciously took me to an electronic store next door where I bought one that fits. Thank you ladies. The rooms and bathrooms are cute and may be considered small by anyone who likes bigger rooms and bathrooms. There's so much to do in Madrid, you probably won't spend too much time in the room anyway, so that shouldn't deter you. Breakfast buffet is worth the money, with sufficient assortment of pastries, fruits, and beverages, see attached pictures. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. I'm not sure I met the manager, but whoever s/he is, is doing an excellent job...
Read moreWe were guests of the hotel for 7 days in June 2023. The hotel is in a good location, close to Gran Via, good breakfast.|On the second day of our stay, we lost our card for entering the room, which we duly reported at the reception. We got a new card. The event itself was strange to us, but we didn't pay too much attention to it.|The room was cleaned during the period when we were not in the hotel.||The biggest unpleasant surprise happened when we returned home and noticed that we were missing a lot of wardrobe. Since our stay was 7 days, we brought a lot of clothes. When we unpacked at home, we noticed that the wife was missing expensive Benetton pants and some intimate wardrobe. 4 Massimo Dutti brand linen shirts are missing.||It is specific that all things disappeared on the last day of our stay in the hotel, as if someone knew when we were leaving the hotel.||My wife and I travel a lot and stay in hotels in Europe, and we have never had any things go missing from a hotel.||We chose Hotel Eurostars because it has 4 stars, belongs to a hotel chain, and we thought we could be safe during our stay.||We informed the hotel that we were missing a wardrobe, but received a...
