The only good thing about this place is its location.
We had booked it for a party and made sure to confirm everything in advance — including playing music, pool access, and the number of guests. The management clearly approved all of this prior to our arrival.
When we checked in, the room had a terrible odor, likely from a toilet blockage. It was unbearable, but thankfully the receptionist did attend to it after we complained.
It was mentioned on their website that there is pool access for residents. However, the pool access is restricted to 8 AM to 3 PM. But the check-in time is 2 PM, which doesn’t make sense and barely gives guests any time to use the pool.
We also received multiple complaints about music, even though we had discussed and gotten it approved beforehand. One of the security guards, in particular, was unnecessarily difficult despite the management’s prior confirmation. We ensured the music stayed within the apartment at all times.
The food service was another disappointment — it took too long to arrive, and when it did, the food was dry and far from the expected standard.
Lastly, even though other guests were freely moving in and out of the property after midnight, the security kept stopping us and complaining about our group size, which was already cleared with the management earlier.
Overall, the inconsistent communication between management and staff made us feel very uncomfortable and not welcomed. What could have been a pleasant experience turned into a stressful one. The location is great, but everything...
Read moreWe stayed at Rococo residence for 4 nights . We were really impressed by the size of the two bedroom apartments, which were well equipped and nicely furnished. They also included a washing machine which was very useful as we were getting towards the end of our holiday.||There is a fabulous roof top area with small swimming pool, that offers amazing views of the city. ||Location wise it doesn't get much better, you are literally minutes away from all of Colombo's top restaurants and hotels and shopping outlets. 10 minute walk from the new Colombo city mall. ||As you are in the centre of the city, you do find that you hear quite a lot of traffic, horns sirens especially if you are sleeping in a room that faces the main road. If you are a light sleeper be sure to sleep In a room away from the main road. Would advise against taking the breakfast which was disappointing.||All in all good place for a few days in Colombo. Lovely staff in security , house keeping and on the front desk, extremely helpful...
Read moreStaff are sweet but upper management are awful and unethical. At 1am we phoned 3 times complaining about very loud, distasteful music from the rooftop before going up in our pyjamas to ask for the noise to stop in person. Management assured us they would end the private party (which was supposed to end at midnight) but only turned down the music slightly. If we had been warned about the party we would have been prepared with earplugs or moved to another hotel as we had an early start. When we left for the airport at 6:30am the party was still going. Owners/Management take your money and clearly don't care about you after that. They also make their security work crazy hours and their staff, though kind, appear to have no autonomy to solve problems. You can tell they want to help but are given no power or authority to do so. Rooms are architecturally nice but need a lot of TLC. This is a money racket for upper management who clearly put profit above...
