Hotel Eden Wellness — Hotel in Zermatt

We have just checked into this hotel and I am fuming with how the arrival was handled. We are a group of younger tourists visiting for a day. We work in tourism and I myself travel often visiting different hotels and areas across the globe. We were very excited about our stay here and ready to relax. Upon arrival, we had booked two rooms for our group of five. We have stayed in many reputable hotels already on this three week trip through Europe and I always call the booking company to make sure there are no issues with us having three people in a room together. They had said everything would be alright. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a look of disgust from the young lady behind the counter as if we didn't belong there. She was extremely upset we had five people and not two per room. I explained the situation and she said it was against policy to have additional people without a charge. In the end, we agreed to pay the charge. However, the way the entire situation was handled was extremely unprofessional and has left a foul taste in my mouth. She didn't once apologize that we had been giving misinformation or explain any of the issues stated above in a kind way. She was abrupt, rude, and extremely judgemental. Maybe because of our age which is ridiculous. I run a production company as a profession and if I ever caught an employee of mine treating people the way we were treated I would be utterly ashamed. We have also called the front desk to ask a few questions and have been brushed off, no professionalism, no accommodation, no hospitality. I had been searching for almost a month for a hotel that has indoor pool & sauna / room with matterhorn view and great value for money since switzerland is expensive overall and you want to get most out of your wallet. This hotel ticks all the boxes, although i went to hotel eden wellness with high expectations i can say my expectations were fulfilled above and beyond. Carla working on the floor during breakfast time is extremely friendly and hard-working. I can say everyone in the hotel was smiling and friendly and it really adds to the experience when you know they put effort to make you happy and satisfied.

Here are my overall scores for different categories: Hygiene:10/10 (Sparkling clean) Bed Comfort: 10/10 (slept like baby) Facilities: 10/10 (more than you need) Staff: 10/10 (Super-friendly and attentive) Breakfast: 10/10 (Carla always greets you with warm cup of coffee. Everything i have tried was delicious, especially hand made pastries were awesome) Location: 8/10 (you have to walk 10 minutes to either ski lifts and it can get a little tiring with ski boots however you get used to it and walking is a warm up before you ski) Value for money: 9.7/10

We stayed for 4 nights and only lucky enough to see matterhorn from our room for one time (attached image) but it’s definitely worth it. We will be back again...

Stayed at the hotel Eden Wellness in mid January 2024. It was supposed to be a bucket list trip that we looked forward to for years. Staying in Zermatt and especially at the hotel Eden Wellness, far exceeded our expectations!!! It was truly the trip of a lifetime and we can't wait to return! Our deluxe double room eith mountain view was perfect! The room was comfortable, clean, modern, and had simply the most breathtaking view on the planet! (daily cleaning service as well). Staff was kind, upbeat, helpful, and all spoke perfect english for idiots from Southern California like us! Lol.

The complimentary breakfast was truly a highlight of everyday for us! Fresh eggs, saugage, ham, local breads, cheeses, yogurt, and fresh squeezed orange juice!

And the wellness spa? Simply amazing! A true Roman Style spa with a warm indoor pool, wet and dry saunas, and a very relaxing, healthy vibe!

Location was wonderful, and their electric shuttle bus whisks you to and from the train station in less than 5 minutes! In closing, Zermatt and the Hotel Eden Wellness was the trip of a lifetime and we will DEFINITELY...
