Our stay at Chesa Valese in Zermatt was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The entire hotel was immaculate, and we truly felt like we received personal attention throughout our visit, making for a genuinely pampered experience. The breakfast offered was quaint and perfectly set the tone for our relaxing mornings. We particularly appreciated their meticulous attention to detail, from accommodating our every small request to providing fantastic local tips, including a wonderful recommendation for a quick hike. The serene garden outside was a peaceful retreat, and our direct, unobstructed view of the Matterhorn was simply breathtaking – we couldn't have asked for anything more perfect.
What truly set Chesa Valese apart was their extraordinary dedication to guest service, exemplified when we accidentally left our passports behind. We had already traveled a few stations away when we realized, and to our immense relief, the staff was there waiting for us at the Zermatt station with our passports in hand, allowing us to quickly resume our journey without significant delay. This level of care is exceptional and speaks volumes about their commitment to guests. We would wholeheartedly recommend Chesa Valese to anyone visiting Zermatt and eagerly anticipate returning for another stay. Five stars are...
Read moreHotel Chesa Valese truly felt like home away from home in Zermatt, in the mountains! From the minute I was picked up at the train station by Frederico to the minute I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the staff - many thanks to Daniella, Gisela and Melanie! And as I was early, I got to leave my luggage at the front desk while I went on my hike towards Chez Vrony.
When I got back, I was warmly welcomed once more and it was finally time to check into my room. The room itself was warm and inviting, cosy with a stocked mini fridge filled with bottles of still and sparking water, coke and Zermatt beer. However, first thing I did since I just finished a hike was to fill up the bath tub for a nice long soak!
Breakfast the next day was something I was looking forward to after hearing about it from my friend who recommended me to Chesa Valese and it was as amazing as she described! There was a wide variety available, from cornflakes to muesli to yogurt to fruits, eggs, bread and jam! Including freshly squeezed juices - orange and grapefruit was delish! And of course, I had to make my own mimosa once I saw the sparkling wine. It was a great way to start the day after a food night’s rest.
I would love to bring my family back and stay at Chesa Valese the next time we’re...
Read moreThe charm of Hotel Chesa and its staff is demonstrated when you are picked up at the train station and whisked away to your new home away from home.
We were greeted by Michael, who has to be the hardest working man in Switzerland -- no task was too great, and every request was met with a "of course".
From the delicious breakfast served each morning, to the amazing views on the balcony -- the Hotel Chesa Valese was everything you could ask for in a Swiss Chalet.
Perfectly situated in the middle of town, a 10 minute walk puts you at the lifts to the glacier paradise, while a 5 minute walk in the other direction puts you on the main avenue which ends in the train station or Gornergrat railway.
Although the rooms are cozy and don't have air conditioning, the view from our balcony of the Matterhorn (and town) was majestic. Also, opening the balcony door to let in the mountain air was refreshing.
The complimentary mini-bar was a lovely treat, and if you have a morning or afternoon to enjoy the included Spa amenities -- you should absolutely plan to pamper yourself.
After three days, we felt like we were leaving friends who welcomed us to their home -- and...
