La Piccola Kata — Hotel in Karon

Pros: centrally located among markets, shops, walkable distance to the beach Owners seemed nice

Cons:

I was first feeling unsettled that there was an additional door in my room attached to another room. Even though the owner assured me that there was a lock keeping the door closed between me and the next room, it wasn't comfortable while staying in a new town.

I went downstairs around midnight/1am to enquire about something in my room. The owner wasn't there as it was understandably late, so I headed up to my room. I went to my door, unlocked it, and to my surprise, I accidentally found myself in a different room. It wasn't my room! My key allowed me into another room across the hall from me - I was in room 10, and I just unlocked number 7. Goodness knows if someone was in there and vice versa (having a stranger walk in). Don't know if the same key also allows access to other rooms.

I had to fiddle with the safe to get it working

Overall, I would not recommend for a solo female traveller. I left first thing the next morning. I'll stick to proper hotels from now...

We stayed here 5 nights with a baby. Pros: location is 10 min from the beach and 4 min from the night market Our rooms were cleaned daily and we were provided with water The hotel room had all the essentials like tooth brush, shampoo, soap, lotion etc. The room had amazing AC There was a fridge as well We never used the swimming pool but looked nice The owners help us find beaches and different restaurants Laundry service was next door (1 min) The room had a balcony so we can dry our swimming stuff

Cons the place doesn’t have an elevator so if you are older I wouldn’t recommend it. However our luggage was taken up and down so we had no issue with carrying it.

The big shower head didn’t work in one of the rooms but the smaller one did.

La Piccola Kata - маленькая Ката 😍 Новый отель с радушным хозяином Sascha from Milan is a really friendly man. Решал все наши мелкие проблемы и помогал в личных вопросах - огромное ему спасибо 🤗❤️

Про отель. Семейный маленький отель. Почти все номера рассчитаны на family. У нас были две комнаты, где в каждой собственный санузел (очень удобно), лоджия и входная дверь. Свежий ремонт, новая сантехника, удобные матрасы, розеток много. Комнаты светлые.

Бассейн практически всегда в тени, лежаков достаточно, или желающих мало 😁 мы были всего 2 раза за 12 дней.

До моря идти 8 мин по тропинке вдоль речки (не по навигатору), т.е.всё время прямо от главной улицы у отеля. Море отличное, иногда убегает во время отливов, но купаться не мешает. Лежаки, при желании, по 100Бат/шт.

Завтраков пока у отеля нет. Мы ели в соседнем отеле: вкусно и недорого. В beach hotel завтрак по системе шведского стола, но выбор очень ограничен - сходили один раз и вернулись в ближайший Orchid cafe. New! Теперь у Саши есть бар у бассейна Coconut в соседнем отеле The Beach.

7/11 ближайший в 4мин хотьбы, но чаще ходили 6мин на Ката-роуд. Овощи покупали на ближайшем рынке, недоходя 7/11. Цены такие же как и на больших night market, а то и дешевле.
