Orchid Cafe — Restaurant in Karon

May 2023. The whole world's businesses are recovering from the impact of Covid. Nowhere is a cheap as it once was but we all value our hard earned money and have a choice of where to eat. We visited Orchid Cafe and ordered our food. One meal was Shrimp Pad Thai. It was terrible, the smallest portion I have ever encountered in Thailand. 3 small shrimps and tasted far too sweet, so much so that I couldn't eat it. I called for the manager who told me it was "normal" for them to serve 3 shrimps in their shrimp Pad Thai. He seemed unapologetic and walked away. Hey, it was 80 baht but in the night market for the same meal and price, my meal had lots of shrimp and wasn't full of sugar. To the owner/ manager...if you value your custom, you have to review the quality of your meals or lose custom. In Kata there are many, many eating places and you have to be as good or better. Many people don't know much about this place. This is a very attractive place. There is a separate breakfast menu, and even lazy people who do not wake up on time can feel the feeling of breakfast. I can say that it is a cost-effective restaurant for the best lunch in the region. There are some of the best delicious foods for the price. In particular, Seafood Fried Rice and Tom Yum Goong thought, "This is how good it tastes at this price?" This is not a street vendor. We tried orchid cafe on a first day in Thailand, and absolutely fell in love with it! We made this place our go to! For breakfast we would share pork fried rice with two fried eggs (don’t forget to try their fish sauce, it’s a bomb!) then for lunch usually I had borsch, and grilled fish for dinner.

My boyfriend loved lobster with curry, and Thai noodle soup.

Their drinks are expensive, and frankly, not very good, but you will find a lot of other better options around the area.
